Figures you wouldn't like most newer cars. You own an freakin '86

I don't like the lights either. But then again, I'll wait till I see it in person.

I like some parts of that car like the rear lights are nice, its got alot of cool options like Rain sensing wipers and Optional DVD-based navigation with three position tilt screen, multi-route calculation, multi-destination input, and route preview http://www.familycar.com/RoadTests/2002-LexusES300/Images/LeftRear.jpg

Don't forget to vote in the Poll in TT-CC.com!

Yea I think I'll pick the 2002 Camry in terms of styling for the front. They messed up the rear in both of the cars.

The interior of the ES300 is gorgeous! Very nicely appointed and it looks upscale! Nice wood, beautiful dash but I think the Camry looks better tho (and that's not b/c I have a Camry either).

I don't mind the back end with a tail, but the car needs to be lowered and to get the proper 17" and wide tire treatment (Camry I mean). THEN it will look good.

They had this car on display in the lobby of BCE Place in downtown Toronto where I work. It is a VERY luxurious looking car. AMAZING interior... I like that it looks very sleek and I don't mind the rear end of it. They could however have done without those ugly Celica headlights on the ES!

Overall, I'd still buy it if I was considering it.

I prefer the old ES300 styling, it had a more youthfull and sportier look..The new one has a tallish more boxy styling it looks more old fashioned than its predecessor....Rounder lines would have been better and the headlights are oversized by far.....However the interior has very nice materials!!!!!

me too.. i prefer the previous generation.. especially from 00-01 .. with cleared reverse light.. anyway.. i test drove the car for an afternoon when i sent my car to service.. i absolutely liked the interior.. and the performance and handling wise.. well, pretty much the same as before~

I think they really screwed it up..I prefer the old generation..The interior is great...everything else sucks!

I dont know i tryed the new ES300 and it drives very nice and seems to pull harder then the Camry 2002.The front end is kinda weird but i like it better then some other cars on the road that cost more.

Really??

i found 2002 V6 camry pulls pretty nice!! dont think its that worse off than my IS300.. very nicely done car! and great handling i would think as well.. Well, i have had 2 02Camry already the past 2 month because of stupid minor prob with my car..

I would say the IS300 auto versus the 2002 ES300 auto would be dam close.Power is very nice on the VVTI version on the 1mzfe ,but the 2jzgte seems to rev much faster and that compensates for the lower-end torque that the ES300 seems to have more of.I just think the ES300 needs a new front end and a nice body kit.But for the same price or less I rather get a 2002 Camry or 2002 5spd IS300.

Hey guys,

I find the '02 Camry V6 to be very close w/ an auto IS300. Off the line, it appears that the Cam has more torque but the IS has more top end. After 2nd gear, I think the IS has the upper hand (mid 3rd ++).

The ES300 would do much better after 100kph over the Cam as it runs out of steam on the upper rpm range. And I'd go w/ the IS300 5sp b/c the gearbox is nice and the beauty of rear wheel drive! There's nothing a turbo can't fix for the IS.
