In Japan the Vibe really is a Toyota, but its called a Voltz there.

i think its a matrix camo'd to look like a vibe. remember the disguised camry with the honda logo? anyways, gm can't afford that much duct tape.

Well I agree its defenitly not the A-class, but i do in fact believe that its the Pontiac Vibe or they just made it look like it with the front grill.

I think that it's the Vibe because of the roof racks. The current Matrix doesn't have them but the Vibe does. Plus the weird looking grooves in the hood scream pontiac to me.

yeah and those 2 occupants are white  . thats not a fncking vibe! that pontiac grille and roof racks are fakes!

Just because the camo grille has a Pontiac resemblance, it's passed off as a Vibe??

Either way, it's quite a treat to see TWO camo'd models. The sloped rear window makes it more of a hatchback as promised but the tailgate really looks unfinished (and hopefully isn't the final shape).

The first picture of the front looks like the current Vibe...sort of....you don't think someone took spy pictures of the current one when it was going to first come out and claim its the second gen? Oh well!

New spy pics of the pontiac vibe are out (and pics of the dual vvti motor inside). It gives some insight to what the new Matrix will look like:
http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=29557

It looks similar to spy pics found of the Matrix:

That is a vibe, the grill gives it away. Does this mean that new Matrix will be out soon? That the Vibe and the Mazda3 are my top small cars!

Either way, it's the new Metrix / Vibe!

Considering they cover up the back side windows, I have a bad feeling they decided to do away with the back side windows like they did with the new Scion xA (? I always get the xA & xB mixed up.)

You know, I've had countless Toyotas over the years. Everything from an AE86 to an 8th gen Celica, and multiple Camrys, including the 01 i have now. Sometimes I feel like Toyota turned it's back on the performance enthusiasts who have made Toyota such a big part of their culture. Everytime I heard a rumor about an upcoming Toyota sports car, my heart filled with hope, but as time went by each rumor seemed more and more unlikely. Instead, Toyota feeds us rebadged econoboxes and tries to pass them off as being hip under Scion to the American consumer (no offense to Scion owners). I've heard every rumor about the upcoming Toyota lineup from from an AWD V6 Corolla hatch variant to a lightweight RWD AE86 sucessor. I'm waiting until SEMA these year to see what Toyota has in store. If Toyota were to come out with a car for next years line up that would be worth paying attention to, I would forgive Toyota for its shortcomings these past years and happily become a Toyota fan again. If Toyota decides to ignore what the public has been asking for another year, I put my down payment on a 2008 VW Rabbit. (170hp compact for $15k? If only Toyota was so generous..)

I don't have the Celica anymore. I drive a 2001 Camry now. I would look into getting another Celica, but it is too hard to find one with the mileage I'm looking for. Also, it would be nice to have some torque and low end power for daily driving.

Rabbits are nice for the money but also be prepared for the endless times at the shop and electrical headahes. But each to his/her own! Good luck!

but who are u to say what the public is asking for? toyota isnt nowadays known for sport cars. in fact, by some people the cars they produce today are boring except a few in the lexus line-up. the reason toyota is successful is their camry, corolla etc -comfort, reliability, economy and saving money. this is what the public wants thats y those cars sell now. u can continue crying about toyota making these rumored cars but toyota wouldnt care much if they are making that much money. besides, america gets all the wack shit is becuz of the damn spoiled kids go straight to the benz dealership and buy the most expensive coupe there is. toyota lost its sports car heritage in america but only carried on by those that own supras and mr2's. sorry to say this but the celica wasnt that great of a car to me..looks like a girl's car but again everyones is allowed to have his/her opinion.

judging from the tr versions of the yaris and auris in europe and canada toyota may give us something racier in the next couple years.the mr2s and the older celicas are sweet but id rather have a sleeper.

I understand what you meant and I agree with most of what you said, but you're hardly making your point by getting a non-performance-orientated Rabbit  At least be a man and get a Golf GTi :D And if that Rabbit ends up being a bitch then you might have to come crawling back crying and stuff.

Yeah, your right, that didn't really make sense to people reading it. What I was thinking was to get a Rabbit for a daily driver and opt for another AE86 and possibly a 4ag swap as a project. I would prefer a GTI but $7k more for 30hp isn't worth it to me when it's all going to driving in traffic anyway. But yeah, that did come out kind of retarded.

The 06-07 2.5 models get 150hp. 08+ 2.5 Rabbit and Jetta get 170hp. With the Rabbit's roughly 200lbs weight advantage over the Jetta, it makes the Rabbit a pretty decent athlete for its class ;)

You know, I'm usually not one for Scions but the Scion Fuse concept is pretty sweet. Google it and you'll see what I mean. Supposedly it'll be the first decently performing Scion. Maybe it'll make it to production as the Scion xR I've been hearing so much about. The reason I have confidence a similar model will make it into production is because I saw the Scion t2b concept firsthand and the new 08 xB turned out to look very similar to it. Scion debuted the Fuse concept at the New York international auto show on the same display that had used to show the t2b concept the previous year.
