Drove the car last week and was very impressed , looks even better in the flesh. Cant wait for mine .
Christian87N 10-17-2006, 10:16 PM hey bro, the link doesnt work. The Aurion seems to be a very very nice car though. Any word on the supercharged aurion?
ECHOKnight2000 10-17-2006, 11:17 PM Link worked for me:D
Anway that is one kick ass car! I love it! So is this the Toyota flagship for Australia? Very sexy car.
Aussie Toyota 10-18-2006, 01:18 AM Supercharged Aurion should be mid next year , i dont know how they are going to control it , the standard car with trc still wheel spins like mad .
Camread 10-18-2006, 09:07 AM ^ Awd.
SolaraTRD 10-18-2006, 10:18 AM How powerful is it? Its started in kiloWatts. :dunno:
but it does look VERY nice imo. It has the conservative sedan look, and they offer that red & gold sporty models.
The sides reminds me of the Mazda-6 alot though. but that front bumper and rear for stock is pretty sporty for me.
Bahraini_Zupra 10-18-2006, 11:59 AM it shares the avalon engine ! so can i get that kit for my AVVY !!!
RAV4EVR 10-18-2006, 01:10 PM I wonder if Australians get a stick shift with the V6 Aurion.
xpeed 10-18-2006, 01:27 PM So, is this the counter model as the Avalon in Australia? I reminds me more of a mix between the Camry and Avalon.

I think it is all Camry with bigger lights.. :)
looks like a Camry on crack
hiace24 10-18-2006, 09:09 PM Its replacing the avalon here, about bloody time, we're still building the first gen av for gods sake!
Aussie Toyota 10-19-2006, 01:01 AM toyota say there will be no awd with the supercharged car , will be exported to the middle east as well. i just went for another drive in 1 :) its a awesome car. Pity no awd that would be seriously quick.

shockel 10-19-2006, 04:25 AM Thats the lexus es 350 with a little different front...
CamryFan1988 10-19-2006, 07:18 AM If it had awd it could take on the bigger boys of sedans
oh well
Gekko 10-19-2006, 01:33 PM The Aurion is build on the same bottomplate as the Camry and Lexus ES350. TRD will provide the supercharger. Could be possible that TRD will sell the supercharger as a kit for the Camry / Lexus ES or any other car with the 2GR-FE engine.

That is more like it.
RodMillenFan 10-20-2006, 12:08 AM You can call it what you want and compare it to whatever Toyota vehicle... to me it's still a Camry with slightly different bodywork... but I like this bodywork better than the US Camry.
To the question of power: kW is just another unit of measure for power-- to convert it to HP you can multiply by about 1.34. So in this case, 200kW = 268HP. Sound familiar? Again, standard Camry V6. The real question, again, is what kind of power it will put down (and how well it will put it to the pavement) once they tack on forced induction.
I agree with the others here: AWD and manual 6-speed would've made it all the better.
Aussie Toyota 10-20-2006, 01:12 AM We just dont sell enough cars to make awd and a manual viable .
Kevs Toy 10-21-2006, 09:44 PM The Aurion is the Aussie varian of the Avalon, just a bit more sporty intentioned. There is no v6 camry offered over there. Oh, and the suprecharger kit wouldnt bolt up to our 2GRs, as the vvti system used for the proposed supercharged model is different from what I read a while back. It could be made to work, but wouldnt be a complete bolt on affair.
