Rockford Sub in middle of rear speakers...

I know that it was done before, I've seen the pic, but i forgot who posted it up. I measured it and I think the largest Gen 3 can fit is 10" sub. Since I want to save my trunk space and carry less weight. I wanted to know if I could bolt on a Rockford Fosgate RFR3110 carrying 2000 watts peak power with no problem. Or does it need more support.

Would it be possible to put a competition sub between there (10" or 12") that would use the whole trunk as it's enclosure? Just an idea.

it was tony who did it......but if you're still gonna have to build a box around it tho, so the space thing is still a bust....go check out his website for pics....(I think?)....

Oxymoron in automotive audio arena.

I've been struggling with this dilema too. The only realistic option I've been able to come up with is going custom and using the spare tire well.

Hmm.. I have a center brake light in the way... Tony didn't because his stock spoiler had it instead, I think.

tony's setup is pretty dope. i think his was actually a 12" JL, so more than 10" should fit. he had a custom box with another sub in the trunk, too.
good luck with that, its a really cool mod.

If you do put the sub on the rear dash, what about your truink bars, did you conider them?

If you want the best sound, get a subwoofer, take the specs of it and ask someone to specially make a box for that subwoofer. You can always remove the box when you need space.
