LoL..... uhm.... why in the world would you want to install that? The aux port not enough? Seems a little redundant. Or am i missing something?

Well ... you obviously haven't connected your iPod to your 07 AUX input then. The AUX input is a 3.5mm audio ONLY input - you get no control of the ipod via factory radio / steering wheel controls. Also... you can not see anything on the radio's display ... it just says AUX!

The module described above allows for all the above to actually WORK!

I personally wouldn't but that because I know for a fact that that module WILL NOT WORK w/ 2007 Camry w/ NAVI (Don't know about JBL or Std Radio but by the looks of the auction 05-07? that doesn't sound right!)... I've been back there & those plugs DO NOT connect to the NAVI system.

Alternatively I WOULD buy the VAIS Technology (www.vaistech.com (http://www.vaistech.com)) SLI Adapter ... which does the same thing & actually works w/ the 07 Camry. Costs $100 more, but guaranteed to work! Plus for $300... they are working on a new version to allow 2 inputs (1 ipod & 1 video input) ... That means you will be able to watch DVDs on your NAVI screen!

Exactly, the Vais Tech device will work. What concerns me about this one is A) they state you can't have factory Sat Radio, and B) they don't give any pics of the screen/text in the car..

The Vais tech SLI is confirmed to work.

Well, no I have connected my ipod to the aux input and have used it that way for awhile now. And, like i posted above, I thought another connection using the bottom connector on the ipod would do the same thing. I didnt know you could control the ipod through the vehicle (hence why i asked "or am I missing something?"). Thats pretty interesting though.

It would be nice if they started incorporating ipod docking stations into vehicles these days. Instead of having to go aftermarket.

In Canada, and I'd assume the States, BMW's dealerships install the IPOD dock as a dealership option costing $300.

Yes, but it's a factory warranty covered item. I had one done in my Volvo. It was USA-Spec but Volvo sold it as an accessory and it ws covered by the Volvo of North America warranty.

Well, I ordered it and got it installed. I must say that so far I'm pretty happy with it. I do not have navigation in my Camry so that wasn't a problem. It is a JBL, and it works fine. :)

toyota Canada dealerships also offer an IPOD interface for something like C$392 + taxes (and I'd assume install).

Good to know since I have the JBL as well, thanks for being the guinea pig on that one!! What does it show on the radio display?

It scrolls the title of the song and the artist. I'll try to snap a picture tonight.

Well I'm glad it worked out for you! I'm sure fellow Camry owners w/ Std or JBL systems are thanking you!

I'm holding out for the VAIS Technology adapter that allows 2 inputs ... 1 Video & 1 iPod - that way I'll have a DVD Player on the NAVI Screen & also have the iPod controls through the factory system. They say it should be out sometime in January ... only a few more weeks!

Any pics yet? I am interested in getting this same system and would love to see it in use before I dive in. Also, how was the install? Did you do it yourself? Please share some details. Thanks alot!
