94 Celica fuel filler door won't open. [Archive] - Toyota Forums

Yesterday my mother calls me and says her fuel filler door on her 94 Celica GT won't open. I go to her house and fiddle around for about 15 minutes with no luck. I suspect the release cable is broken, but since she is low on gas her immediate concern is getting the door open. Anyone have this problem? Is there a way to open the door without doing damage? What is entailed in fixing the problem in the future? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
