$40 for 4 plug wires?

Am I misisng something, or are companies really selling spark plug wires for a 4banger for $40?

It doesn't seem to make any sense to me for it to be so high, I see OEM wire sets for Chevy V8s for that price.

I must either not be looking at OEM replacement equipment, or someone is trying to rip me off.

$40 is right, I've seen oe quality go for over $80, and cheaper quality for around $30. But hey if you want cheap dude I got a set I'll sell for $30 Shipped (used but good :))

stock wires for a 99 Impreza 2.5RS...maintenance for your vehicle is CHEAP. enjoy it.

Where are you finding it for 40 dollars? Some places will be more while some may be less. Just go to your local Toyota dealership and ask for OEM spark plug wires and see if that 40 dollars seem expensive (99.9% says yes according to my local dealers). You might find better deals, just have to search for them...

$40 is cheap, you can probably find cheaper but who knows how long they will last. I bought a set of cheap Niehoff wires for my old civic before and basically the metal plug stayed on the car when I pulled on the wires. :ugh3: :lol:

same here, the cheap ones are horrible miserable $hit... you can at least get the liftetime warranty ones, and save yourself from getting the POS wires..

Hmm, alright. We only have one Toyota dealership near me, so there's little competition for it. Except for the 2 Fords, and the HUGE Gary Barbara dealership(Dodge,Jeep,Chrysler).

If I had the money, I would get a premium set and not be complaining about the cost, but I'm just looking for something to replace what I have. Not that the car really nedds it, just one of the plug boots lost a lead. So it is HIGHLY recommended by my father to change them.

Order them online from an auto parts store like one of these: www.autozone.com (http://www.autozone.com), or www.partsamerica.com (http://www.partsamerica.com) (order the lifetime warranty or at least the 2 year warranty ones).

dakmor.. the companies that usually make the OEM wires for the domestic cars are usually the same companies that make the shitty aftermarket crap available out there, hence the reason why you see wires for V8s for the price of the OEM 4cyl imports.

^^ This is very true... I can get PBR Clutch kits for 1/3 of the price than OEM, yet they are exactly the same...

And be glad - for the Silvertop they were AUD$120 - at the current exchange rate thats like USD$90.
