I tried posting this earlier, but it seemed to fail to post. Anyways, this is my first post and I'm hoping that this isn't something discussed already that I missed in the search.
How do you remove the rotors on a 1998 4WD T100 (front rotors)? I've looked at these things and it looks like they're really on there good. Do they slide off the front, or do you have to take the heat shield off to remove bolts from the backside? Also, is it worth it to get them turned (first time), or should I just buy heavier duty/vented one's? Great forum here, lots of good information. Thanks for any input into my rotor removal dilemna.

Thanks a bunch Xsasta, that helps explain it. Looks like I'll be shopping for a 54mm socket this evening to get that locked on hub off. I appreciate the help.

When you removed your rotors, where did you find the torque spec. to mount the rotors back on???
I have dissassembled hub/rotors in my garage that I can't put back together without the correct torque! My Haynes manual mentions the torque, but they convienently left the actual numbers out of the book!

hey boys , those haynes books suck!!! They forget to mention alot of stuff, save your 25$ on buying that book, go to your local toyota dealer, they should let you borrow the book for you truck. In belleville, Ont. Can. they did. There is way more detail to there books. But I just spent a whole lot of money there so that may be the reason there treating me so nice. I have been having a super hard time getting a fair shake when it comes to dealing with the automotive market. It seems that everyone is out for them selfs these days. Everyone is out for the quick buck!. It's sad. Im only 23 and not letting people push me around. Why is it that toyota wants 600$ for 4 ball joints for my 97 t100 SR5. When I can go spend a lil time on the net and find the same thing for 100$ sent to my doorstep in 3 days.
Thats 530$ right off the top of my cost. Isn't that wrong?
I have a buddy in the parts desk at toyota, they mark up there prices from 360% to 500%. Thats just highway robbery, literly, bad news. Licence to print money really! T100 ROCKS!!!!! I LOVE MY TRUCK!!!
