Take note that I don't have the Optitron gauges (that are white backlit and have the trip computer on the cluster. My trip computer is in the middle display that shows the temp).

You can get it with white backlight??? How so? What package?

You have to pay an extra $8000 to get the "Limited" trim...it's the only way to get the white backlit one, unfortanutely (because that's what I wanted). I thought 8g's was a lot, but you get heated leather seats, sunroof, nav, the white gauges and auto climate. I just couldn't justify the extra money on those creature comforts when the SR5 does an awesome job on impressing me.

Is that a trans. temp gauge under your tach? Yall have alot more switches and buttons than we do!!

What is the "S" next to your D for your gear indicator?

Yes that's a trans temp gauge.

Could that be SLOW? I mean a crawl-gear for towing on 1st gear?

I fiqured it was some sort of a granny gear, usually it would be an "L". Just curious, I really like the look of the new Tundras!!!

The "S" stands for "Sport" and the little LCD right under it shows you what "manual gear" you're in. It's nice to have a auto and "manual" shifter :D

But every time I see the new Tundra this little bastard in the back of my mind says "Damn, those things are nice"!!!:rolleyes:Oh, then us 2nd Gen owners just need to post some more pictures:lol: It's nice having the sequential shifter...when driving in D down the highway and someone slams on their brake in front of you, you can literally tap it over into "S" and it starts engine braking...pretty nice.

And as for the low comment...when you put this thing in 1st 4LO, it crawls a hell of a lot slower than the Taco did (because of the rear end gearing (4.3) and the first gear (3.33)

For a simple trip computer located where the time and temp are displayed. Shows AVG MPG, INST MPG and Range. The Limiteds get that on the cluster and can customize door locks and light control just to name a few.

Quit posting pictures of your Tundra mhadden!! Every time I see them I think, "well just one little test drive to see what the 5.7L drives like won't do any harm :D "

What is the "S" next to your D for your gear indicator?

Whether it stands for 'Sport' or 'Serious', the S selection option allows you to shift from Drive (with its 6 speeds automatically selected) to a variation of Drive in which you can set the HIGHEST gear to be used. When first positioning the shifter to S, the tranny defaults to 4th gear; i.e., the truck will not go higher than 4th. You can then position the S setting higher or lower ... not higher than 5th, not higher than 1st, etc. It comes in handy when hauling a load like a horse trailer, ATVs, etc.

So have I sold you on one yet :D Did I mention that it burns rubber in 1st and second gear when the auto LSD and Trac is disabled? Oh and the ride is real smooth too, for what that's worth:lol:

:preach: I will not go to the dark side....I will stay on my current path of rightousness :lol:

Luckily my dad is getting ready to replace his 1997 F-150. He has been looking hard at the new Tundra and really likes it. I am pretty sure he is going to wait and get a 2008 model, but I'll be sure to go with him when he test drives it. I may have to start visiting my parents a little more often if he has a 5.7L sitting in the garage :D

Nah, the "dark side" is the Honda Ridgeline :fruit:

Tacoma = Obi-wan

Tundra = Yoda :lol:

That's what I wanted to do...buying a first model year anything is against my superstition and religion, but the wifey "just had to have it now":rolleyes: As long as my cam shaft doesn't explode, I'll be happy:ugh3:

I don't have access to wiring diagrams or component lists (anyone have access?) but I'm sure they components would be plug and play. You could always do the Jtaro mod and change the lights from orange to white. To be honest, if the gauges are white and the switches are orange, that would look wierd. It's already bothering me (not to much though) that the temp/time display is white, and the gauges and switches are orange.
