Already tried the search feature and after 10 pages I gave up. What options are there for aftermarket rear bumpers? I just got rearended and may as well go aftermarket if there are options.

Don't mean to hijack but which one would you guys go with if your stock bumper was trashed: All Pro http://allprooffroad.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=102 Rocktek http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=132976&highlight=rocktek The Rocktek definitely looks cleaner and it's cheaper. On the other hand, the All Pros wrap wound the quarter panels and I get the feeling that the dude who just recently got the nasty hit run could have avoided $1000 of damage. The fiberglass panels used to cover the gap beneath the lights are just cheesy, though. BillBrasky 10-03-2007, 05:33 PM I have been seriously eyeballing that rocktek for a while. For $550 that is a steal. I'd like to have one that continued forward toward the wheel well along the side of the bed. Like the 4runner bumpers. BillBrasky 10-03-2007, 05:39 PM rocktek makes a nice rear bumper, a few guys on ih8mud.com have it. allpro tube demello (but their price is outrageous, $1000!) custom Well, I called Demello this summer and got a quote for a standard wrap around for the 05+. It's $800 pc'd. Then another $350 for a swingout tire carrier. Fawking ridiculous. I know it's good stuff, but damn. screeber 10-03-2007, 05:40 PM There's an active thread on TTORA right now about 05+ rear bumpers. Look in the late tacoma tech section. With all the scrapes and dents I have between my rear tire and bumper, I don't see how I would get anything other than one that had side protection. beastbluetaco 10-03-2007, 05:48 PM I'm looking for a rear bumper myself. I don't off-road (taco's a 4X2) so I dont know about the different advantages of each. screeber 10-03-2007, 05:54 PM I'd like something like this http://www.armorology.com/IM000892.JPG With either the plate protection like that, or some tube protection for that area between the tire and the taillight. Of course that means clearancing the sheet metal..... Silver-Bolt 10-03-2007, 08:21 PM I like that Rocktek. Calling them tomorrow. BillBrasky 10-03-2007, 08:52 PM I'd like something like this http://www.armorology.com/IM000892.JPG With either the plate protection like that, or some tube protection for that area between the tire and the taillight. Of course that means clearancing the sheet metal..... Thats exactly like what I was referring to. Especially if the sides are just a bit wider than the body to add some side protection in the rear. A poor man's wrap around hoops, if you will. I wonder if Rocktek would build one to order like that. samcollett 10-03-2007, 10:16 PM that rocktek bumper is nice. i have a feeling if i got rear ended with that thing i wouldn't have too many problems. MrGrimm 10-03-2007, 10:28 PM well when i have my rear bumper made, it will be a combination of the following bumpers. It will be a tire swingout with a mount for a hi-lift. the swingout will be mounted onto a bumper similar to the picture on the bottom. i will have to cut some of the fender to get the right amount of protection that i am wanting. I am looking to get this done by Demello. MrGrimm 01-02-2008, 09:36 PM go with the all pro all bolt on with great protection all around at an incredible price. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/GoPdRiDeR/Picture167.jpg that is a fun hill to go up  6shooter 01-02-2008, 09:41 PM i don't think i like the look of the allpro rear. they should come up with something that matches the new plate style front bumper they have coming out. ( like the rocteck one ) i just don't like the wrap around tube look, although it does offer a more protection. toyospookie 01-02-2008, 09:45 PM that all pro looks pretty dang good.... I wouldn't mind having that. ( like the rocteck one ) i just don't like the wrap around tube look, although it does offer a more protection. It's in the developement stages right now. Still haven't fabbed up the prototype. With as long as the front took to come out, I would expect it later this year. I plan on waiting for that to some out before I make a move on a rear bumper. May rhino line my current bumper, just to get rid of the horrid chrome. 6shooter 01-02-2008, 09:53 PM ^ oh cool. i'd be interested to see what they come up with. the prices seem to be pretty reasonable on there stuff too. TACOSALAD 01-02-2008, 11:29 PM ^^ I love that bumper, but I don't know how I feel about cutting my bedside. Which seems weird because I chopped up my cab mount. 6shooter 01-02-2008, 11:35 PM i aint scurred-i'd do it right now. anyone have a linky? time to google. 6shooter 01-02-2008, 11:36 PM ahh, here we are: http://www.armorology.com/ TACOSALAD 01-02-2008, 11:38 PM i aint scurred-i'd do it right now. anyone have a linky? time to google. Hell yeah, you should get one, that way I can see it on a truck in person before I pull the trigger :D BruynBoy 01-03-2008, 12:00 AM It costs a bit over $850 and the truck has to be at his shop in Colorado :(. He does awesome work but unless you want to go to Colorado, your best bet is to bring the picture to someone local. 6shooter 01-03-2008, 12:43 AM Hell yeah, you should get one, that way I can see it on a truck in person before I pull the trigger :D nice:lol: dustin19d 01-03-2008, 06:11 AM Mines going into the Armorology shop on the 14th the get the rear done. I am looking at building a rear bumper and can't decide if I should cut the bed or not. Love to take a peek at yous if possible. 06HAOLE 01-03-2008, 02:02 PM Dustin, Any chance I could check that out as well? Do it once and do it right since your building a custom bumper 6shooter 01-03-2008, 02:06 PM peer pressure. Turn #1 01-03-2008, 02:11 PM If anyone is looking for a stock rear bumper from a 07, I have one. 170 plus shipping OBO. PiercedTiger 01-03-2008, 04:52 PM I want a better bumper too, unfortunately I haven't found one I like that is just bolt on. All the ones I like require me to drive halfway across the country to visit their shop. I could handle installing something or even cutting the fenders if I had a decent how-to guide. dustin19d 01-03-2008, 04:59 PM Dustin, Any chance I could check that out as well? I am looking at building a rear bumper and can't decide if I should cut the bed or not. Love to take a peek at yous if possible. Yeah not a prob. As of right now, the girl is trying really hard to talk me out of cutting the bed side. I've talked to Jed at Armorology, and he can also do one similar to Roktek's without the cutting. I guess I have till the morining of the 14th to decide. Whatever I go with just PM me if you want to check it out. dustin19d 01-06-2008, 06:40 PM As of right now, the girl is trying really hard to talk me out of cutting the bed side. Um, so in other words, I was hoping you guys would talk me into getting the wrap around.....anyone? 6shooter 01-06-2008, 08:26 PM do it. don't be a:Bruce: 06HAOLE 01-06-2008, 09:36 PM If you cut the bed your committing to the project. You cant trade it in next year or the year after and expect to get the same value. Thats your choice and hopefully wont be made by peer pressure. 6shooter 01-06-2008, 09:40 PM but he was asking for the peer pressure. i'd just like to see some more pictures of the setup. 06HAOLE 01-06-2008, 09:41 PM Heres mine http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s208/06LVTACO/FoodDrive_07_08.jpg mynaughtymonkey 02-09-2008, 05:10 PM For anyone that is looking to unload their stock bumper...I slid into a guardrail a few weeks back and am looking for a black, rear bumper for an 05. Or just put your phone number in the PM and I'll call ya. EAGLE1_RSB 03-29-2009, 11:43 PM Mr. Grimm, did Demelio ever get you something you were looking for? I'm interested in doing the same thing.
