More Corollas!middleoroad 10-18-2007, 10:13 AM Toyota plans to increase production of Corollas by 200,000 units next year. http://www.greencarcongress.com/2007/10/toyota-plans-to.html TRDfrankie 10-18-2007, 11:19 AM I wonder if that includes "ALL" of various Corolla Variants? Such as the Corolla Verso in Europe, the Corolla Matrix in North America, the Corolla Fielder etc... One would assume so since the next gen Corolla is out in most of the world including the homemarket. middleoroad 10-18-2007, 10:11 PM my guess would be these numbers are only Corollas, not Matrix,or Verso or Auris,Fielder is probably included. It's only a guess but its based on Matrix numbers being separate in NA.Does anyone have more expertise? corolla1 10-18-2007, 10:58 PM my guess would be these numbers are only Corollas, not Matrix,or Verso or Auris,Fielder is probably included. It's only a guess but its based on Matrix numbers being separate in NA.Does anyone have more expertise? the matrix is part of the corolla family and is counted as such even in america. according to the article, corolla production will increase here too. middleoroad 10-18-2007, 11:20 PM woops you're right,it must be all of them.I'll take a seven seater Corolla Verso D4D 2.2! 40mpg! corolla1 10-19-2007, 02:22 AM woops you're right,it must be all of them.I'll take a seven seater Corolla Verso D4D 2.2! 40mpg! sounds good, i think they should sell them here. in fact, i wish toyota would sell more models of the corolla family in general. your thoughts? ECHOKnight2000 10-19-2007, 08:27 AM sounds good, i think they should sell them here. in fact, i wish toyota would sell more models of the corolla family in general. your thoughts? It would be nice but it would eat sales of the Yaris and possibly the Prius, referring to the fact if Toyota brought a diesel Corolla over here. Actually it could eat into Camry hybrid sales. So I think that kind of Corolla is not going to happen. I think when gas prices get higher then there might be more justification to bring over more models or just make a hybrid Corolla:naughty::naughty: corolla1 10-19-2007, 09:40 AM It would be nice but it would eat sales of the Yaris and possibly the Prius, referring to the fact if Toyota brought a diesel Corolla over here. Yeah I heard that as well. And obviously like other new Corolla generations it moves up market with more goodies so this one will be pretty refined Corolla considering the stiff competition out there. I would go so far to say as far as the CAR segement goes the premium compact segement is the second biggest in NA after mid-sized segement. middleoroad 10-21-2007, 09:45 AM It would be nice but it would eat sales of the Yaris and possibly the Prius, referring to the fact if Toyota brought a diesel Corolla over here. Which means we need our Sienna HSD =P. A Corolla hybrid would be awesome. ECHOKnight2000 10-21-2007, 07:58 PM I know they are bringing a diesel for the Accord, eventually. Tideland Prius 10-21-2007, 08:27 PM I know they are bringing a diesel for the Accord, eventually. They have to since the HAH failed miserably. | |
