HELP Needed with Spark Plug Change

99 Corolla auto, 120 K miles

I did the MMO soak overnight. This morning, I cranked the engine a couple of times to get the MMO out. Then I put in the new spark plugs. The car cranked maybe a couple of times and them made the most awful racket like there was a woodpecker in the engine. The proper wires are on each plug. It won't start. I don't want to run the battery down trying.

Any ideas?

OK, here's the update . . .

The battery was pretty close to dead. My neighbor checked the voltage and figured that part out. I am not sure how much MMO you are supposed to put in anyway, but I clearly added too much (2 oz/cylinder). With enough cranking of the engine to shoot the stuff out along with sticking a rag down the top of the cylinder and a jump start from our other car (after 15 minutes of charging), the Corolla finally kicked over with a huge cloud of smoke.

For me, I would not do this MMO thing again or recommend that anyone else do it. My neighbor looked at me like I was completely stupid. Well, we took the car to get a new battery, anyway!
