Clutch

If the clutch pedal is getting stuck when I hold it down too long, could it be the pressure plate.

When I hold down the clutch pedal and put it into first, the clutch pedal is stuck to the floor and the car seems as if it caught the gear because it starts to move forward. Is this something to do with the clutch (pressure plate, bearing, or fork) or is it the master cylinder?

If it is starting to move forward the pressure plate is engaging the clutch. Might look at a leaking master or slave cylinder, it holds pressure at first then leaks down causing the clutch to engage. Or air in the system.

Is it possible for the master to go within 4 or 5 months? Probably was a defective one or something.

Hey, ya its your master. I think it is best to change your master and slave at the same time, flush the entire system. My 97'T100 SR5 just got a complete overhaul. New Clutch, the whole deal. 1 week later the clutch petal hit the floor, what a pain in the ass have to reach down and pull it back up.

did you notice that the return spring is what toyota calls a torsion spring. it doesn't really return the pedal, i have no idea why it's there.

i dont know either, I think its the hydrolic fluid creates suction in the master, and holds the petal to the floor, when i hit it with my foot, raised the petal about a inch from the fllor, it would pop right up fast, i think thats where the spring comes into play

yes sir, I just had a complete clutch job done on my 97 toyota t100 sr5. new pressure plate, throw bearing, everything. And about a week later my clutch dropped to the floor I was pissed! When you change your master, spend the extra time and money on replacing you slave cylinder too, and flush your fluid, making sure its clean.
Hope i helped!, Chris
