So today's the day ladies! Im about to go to Fujita and put this thing on the dyno. Brian at Fujita was kind enough to give me a before and after dyno pull to compare the new Gen 6 CAI. I'll post pics and results when I get back. Stay tuned!

Sweeet... keep us posted. So many people from SoCal in here.

I can't wait to see the results, my guess is that it will be around 190HP before, and probably around 200HP after.

yup...its a nice day for a dyno pull. Brian is putting it back to stock so a base run will be done in about 10 mins

alright...stock pull is done and got an average of 203hp..CAI numbers will follow

can't post vids yet..I'm actually typing this from my Treo. sucky thing is I can't stand next to the car while they do the pulls...so vids will be from the door looking inside the shop...sorry guys but safety comes first! I'll try to get a print out of the pulls

wait... stock got 203? that sounds way too low... tells the temp and conditions... what dyno did you use?

Thats sounds about right at the wheels. Alot of power is lost through the auto trans usually 25%. And figuring that out, thats pretty much right on the money!

dyno says DYNOJET. I got the chart and that will show conditions and all...did 2 pulls with the CAI and averaged 220hp

+17HP @ the wheels?

Why do I have a feeling that the variables are being manipulated....

what variables is there to manipulate? I saw it go down in front of me...I'd say the second pull of 218hp is more realistic but on average it was 220...I'd say this thing is good for atleast 10-15hp

The dyno itself and it's settings have many variables/corrections that can be manipulated. Not to mention actual ambient temps and the ECU just to name a few...

The percentage gains that you speak of aren't realistic for that type of modification.

Hell, the factory air intake was more restrictive on my Formula and I didn't get NEAR those gains with a completely unrestriced Ram Air setup.

But then again, I wasn't manipulating anything to show massive gains...

naw... i'd be guessing we'd get 220 stock... if the crank is 268

Isn't it true that there will be a pretty significant gain once the CAI is installed, but once the ECU gets accustomed to it the power increase will go down?

I'd like to see another dyno a few days after and see the results (given that the temperature/humidity is roughly the same).

K&N Has a dyno chart showing the stock V6 puts out 194HP to the wheels, and about 208HP after the intake.

That's why you reset the ecu and drive it like crazy for a couple of days so the ecu remembers that power....

And you need to learn how to read a dyno... that's the max difference given... if you look the peak, it reads ~230-240

http://www.kandn.com/dynocharts/69-8611.pdf

Plus it was taken on second gear which is really odd... when the camry has perfect 1:1 gear ratio for 4th gear... 3rd gear is the usual norm..,

Eddie, what gear was your dyno done on?

+1. Since you're in SoCal, take it to www.danstoy.net in Sante Fe Springs or www.rbmotoring.com in the City of Industry for another dyno run.

Thanks for sharing and doing it in the first place. Looks pretty good...no matter how much of the measured gain is sustainable.

And to the guys doubting the results - so be it, believe it or not - who cares. The guys from Fujita offered to test their CAI installed for free and they did it like everybody else does. Of course, you guys can pick on it, come up with things they manipulated etc...but did it ever come to your mind they simply did what they said they do - a comparison before/after under the same conditions and w/o playing games? Just maybe?

No problem! The guys at Fujita are great. Brian worked on the car all morning and made sure he fixed the little issues with the instructions. He even re-arranged the wiring for my foglights which was just dangling. I wanna say thanks to them for taking the time to do this and willing to backup there products.

How exactly is that thing going to get any air when the bumper is on?
I wish someone would take advantage of the stock intake entrance.

Sounds real good though  and props to fujita for doing all this.

you have to remember that air is everywhere... it's the fact that the filter is further away from the engine and heat that provides the advantage of colder air

thanks for showing us the DYNO and everything and thanks to FUJITA for doing all of this =]

hmm just listening to the CAI take over at high RPM sounds really nice, gets me want to get it even more BUT iono dont wanna be wasteful n take away our stock factory intake = /

decisions decisions.....
