Chris Corolla S 11-17-2003, 06:21 PM Hi, this is the only info I have really heard about the new Scion TC:
Information that we know about the Scion tC:
The release will coincide with the final nationwide release of all cars
The tC will be Scion's volume sales unit
Primedia reports that the Honda Civic coupe is the primary target
Power will be sourced from the Camry 2.4L via FWD
The roof concept from the ccX concept will remain intact
Insiders have likened it to a cross between the Audi A4 and Acura RSX
This is from: http://www.scionlife.com/tc/
Anybody have more hardcore info like pics and the like?
Chris Corolla S 11-17-2003, 06:25 PM Some BS:
"And, at a Scion-sponsored party at Risque in Las Vegas' Paris hotel, a salesman from one of its Southern California stores said the brand would show off its third model at the Los Angeles auto show in January. He said it would be called the tC ( because Volvo already has an xC model) and that it would come with a factory super-charger.
A Scion spokeswoman wouldn't confirm this, saying Toyota doesn't talk about future products."
Stock S/C

I've been watching scionlife for some updates on the tC, some pics would be nice. I'm kinda curious why they would use the Camry motor though, its big and not very high-revving. Maybe they're taking a look at Nissan and their new torquey motors?
Voodoo.Priest 11-17-2003, 10:56 PM Damn. I used to have 4 or 5 pics of it but I lost them. I remember reading stuff on it some where before but I can't remember where. I'm not sure of the specs but from what I remember I've never heard anything about a super charger.

jhbhatia 11-18-2003, 09:10 AM There was a Jap mag article which wherein they were using the camry 2.4 i4 and attaining close to 180 ponies..I don't read japanese...but those numbers looked  to me...I guess maybe there have a s/c there and they are NOW bringing that to stateside??? don't know....anyone still have that article..it was mostly used to show the next toyota altezza (and had the upper left corner for toyota vesta - aka camry).
Chris Corolla S 11-18-2003, 12:17 PM no mistamatrix!:hammer:
That's the ccx concept, but we are talking about the "tc", due out in January!!:D
They are going to coincide the release with the full country-wide release of the scion xa and xb, which have already sold thousands here in California.
I see them everywhere, there is like three Xbs and an Xa in my neigborhood alone.
jhbhatia 11-18-2003, 12:28 PM Found that article: Anyone read Japanese!
(thats the engine i was referring to)...

The country-wide release doesn't occur until June.

That's a subjective statement if ever I saw one..
Nothing wrong with the echo's at all!
Jarrett 12-01-2003, 04:30 PM I thought that the next Scion model was going to be based on the Toyota Avensis called the XC
mistamatrix 12-02-2003, 11:45 PM Looks like it's official...

jhbhatia 12-03-2003, 11:18 AM I just hope that have though things through....replacing celica by that would be NOT THE BEST WAY I WOULD RUN TOYOTA! (i'm still bummed out toyota declided to stop importing celica's in 2005).
Ratko 12-03-2003, 11:52 AM can't wait to see the first official pics of this car!

Who's down for a road trip this January
Bah...Tc is US only...I don't really understand why Toyota won't bring Scion into Canada....and Toyota needs more cars and less trucks... and they need to go faster... Never thought I'd say this, but I think i might jump ship and go Sentra SpecV or even *gasp* Honda/Acura!
quadraphonic 12-03-2003, 02:49 PM I'd hold off on the Sentra Spec-V, I hear there's been engine trouble with those ones. The Honda V-TECs are ok.. but I'm not sure how the match up with VVTL-i engine.
