Brakes??? Cruise control not working??

Ummm.... What makes the brake light on speedometer come on, but nothing is wrong with the brake pedal? I had a brake line replaced a couple of weeks ago, but my brake light is still on and they're working fine. My cruise control doesn't work anymore which is bugging me  I checked all the connection and even tried disconnection it then reconnecting it. I don't have anything else to go with except the my brakes might have something to do with it... local mechanics told me wrong that the brakes doesn't have anything to do with the cruise control, but I believe they're wrong because ever since my brakes went out so did the cruise control now my brakes are ok and the cruise control still doesn't work. I can push the switch on the light comes on, but it won't activate at all. Is there also a good chance that the float in the reservoir can get stuck that will make the brake light stay on?

I have had the brake light indication come on before. For me it was a bad bulb in the 3rd brake light. Have you checked the operation of your brake lights?

And oddly enough my CC doesn't work right now either...haven't had a chance to troubleshoot that one.

yup.. unplug the wire that connect to the master cyl and see if the lights go off. if does, then give the reservoir some tap and plug it back in to see if that help.. and yes it happened to me before.. lol. but not sure about the cruise control.

Not the high-mount brake light? The red BRAKE light insignia the same one where you pull up the emergency brake and that light would come up. besides the high-mount brake light goes out when that yellow light comes on the speedometer

If the high mount light doesn't work and the BRAKE light is on in the gauge panel, it just needs a new bulb in the high mount brake light.

I'm not talking about the high mount!!! I'm talking about the red capitalized letters B-R-A-K-E

mine was coming on once in a while because my brake fluid reservoir was a little low - not low enough to seem dramatic, but once i topped it off the light went away for good

Your brake light is probably on because of your pressure differential switch, its a simple pressure switch that is somewhat of an idiot light that can alert you of a fluid leak or pressure loss. I'm guessing the light came on when you're brake line blew/broke and you had a soft pedal and is still on after the problem is fixed? Try this:
SLAM the brake pedal down hard, this will often work to shut the light off. You may have to open a bleeder screw before doing this if you feel comfortable doing so or just take it back to the mechanic that fixed your line. I always try to shut the light off for customers when doing brake work. What line was replaced? Does your car have ABS?

Cruise control does not have anything to do with your brakes. I would suspect a switch or servo problem.

hope this helps
