Recently on/off when I hit my brakes the battery light and the blown bulb indicator light illuminate until I take my foot off the pedal. What could this mean? I guess the battery light flickering could maybe mean a voltage problem or something wrong with the batt/alt. But i'm confused why both would light up/go off at the same time? Anyone have a clue?
I haven't seen this where it only happens when you apply the brakes, however, when those lights come on together it usually is a sign that the alternator is going. Take it in to a shop to have the alternator checked. Call around, often part stores (Auto Zone, O'reilly) will do this check for free.

^Thanks for the reply. I'll get the alt looked at sometime soon.
Anyone else? I mean 30 muffler/exhaust/suspension threads get started a week all with responses but this thread goes overlooked?

Same thing happened to me and mine turned out to be the alternator going, so I'd definitely get that checked out.

get a friend and a volt meter and check the batter voltage vhile the car is running and not voltage should be 14ish - on 12ish off and then hit the brake to see if u have a drop might be a bad battery cell too

Thanks guys. I guess it's the alt cause the battery is a brand new Optima Yellow top. I'll go to Autozone when I get a chance to.
