I have just recently aquired a 1994 Toyota T100 DX Long Box w/ 164k miles and I'm wanting to do some "upgrades" to the engine. Does anyone here know if the 3.0 V6 DOHC Heads from a 1992-95 Toyota Camry are interchangeable with the 3.0 V6 SOHC T100 engine? I was noticing that the Camry has 188bhp as the T100 has 150bhp. Or would I need to do a complete Engine and ECM swap? I have a low mileage 1994 Camry that was rear ended at my disposal for this swap. Thanx In Advance people. Rowdy

Different engine...so no. :(
3vze is not the same as a 3vzfe. ;)
Yer better off finding a 1995 T-100 single cab 3.4L type... :D

OK, so if the 1994 Toyota Camry has an all Aluminium Block, Heads etc. I wonder if a 1993 Toyota Camry (since it has Aluminium Heads but Cast Block like the T100) would work better. I don't want to swap out to a 3.4L cause of the wiring hassles. I'm jus' trying to make this as simple as possible without getting in way over my head before I start on making this truck better. If I was to jus' swap the engines out I would go a li'l silly and jus' throw in a Lexus V8 and such and call it good. Does anyone have some advice for me? Or am I gonna be stuck with shooting ducks in the dark with this project? Rowdy

Camry engines are front wheel drive engines, they are completely different than the 3.0L in the T100. The closest relative to the T100 is the 4Runners and the pickups, but they still have the same engine. A later model 3.4L would be your best bet if you can find one that had been wrecked without any damaged to the drivetrain.

If you look at the heads from both engines...you'll see that they don't match up. Not much you can do about that... :(

Thanx guys for the help. It is a shame that Toyota couldn't make these a li'l bit more "Universal" Between the 3.0 Lines. I'll look at other avenues with trying to get a li'l more oomph out of my li'l T100 before swapping the engine out.

Since you have the DX...yer better off just gitting the 1995 single cab in the 3.4L. Keep in mind that they also came int he 2.7L fer the single cab. 1995 was the last year they put the 3.4L in the single cab. No messing around with swaps, engine harnesses or the high costs involved with it. ;)

There are a few places on the net to get some major 3.0 upgrades but they cost big money and the power adds are minimal at best. These upgrades are all internal and are rather extensive.
Any external upgrades are a waste of money. Did it and it produced little or worse results than what the truck already had (power wise). Larger exhaust pretty much produced a larger noise. I even tried the headers (which do not fit automatic T100s with a column shift without some modifications BTW) and all they did was make the truck sound like a tank! I'm not kidding. I have had two Mustang GTs and now a vette all with headers and aftermarket exhausts and this truck was still louder than them! And it was not a good sound. Power from the headers was not noticeable. If there was anymore I couldn't tell.
I was like you. I really did not want to get into swapping engines. I love the T100, but hated its low power numbers. Ultimately I said the hell with it and went for the 3.0 to 3.4 swap. Not an easy and cheap thing to do by any means unless you could find yourself a wrecked T100 which would be way easier. I did ultimately get it done, but after all of the money I spent I could have very well have bought a newer T100 or even a newer Tundra. Now mind you, this was with an automatic truck. The swap is far easier with a manual because the 3.0 5 speed can be used with the 3.4 engine. The 3.0 auto tranmission cannot be used!
If I had to do it again, I wouldn't. I would have sold the truck and bought one with the 3.4 from the start.
Still got the truck (also bought an 08 Tundra) and I still like the truck, but ultimately it cost a bit more to get that power into the T100 which Toyota should have given it in the first place!

I really appreciate all the replies to this post. I figure this will be a good li'l yard truck (runnin' to Home Depot for small things) if anything. I have a "FULL-SIZE" truck for big jobs and a minivan (neither a Toyota, sorry) for road trips. I'm also in the process of repairing the wrecked 1994 Camry that my grandmother so graciously bestowed on me, guess that'll become the girlfriend's car (maybe!). One thing I find funny is this 3.0L V6 T100 gets the same gas mileage as my 5.2L V8 in my Ram 1500 Quad Cab, 16 city and 20 highway. Thanx again for the replies. Rowdy
