96 t100 rwd-
I've got the brake shakes!
I purchased some replacement rotors because my originals are getting too thin to continue turning them. I'm having trouble removing the rotors (they are bolted to the hub/wheel bearing assembly). That in itself seems odd to me. I've tried soaking them in liquid wrench and have only been able to loosen 2 of the six bolts with the entire assembly removed- I can't get enough leverage on it that way. It's frustrating to keep removing the brake calipers and the wb assem. just to get nowhere.

It was suggested to me that I try leaving the wheels on and accessing the bolts from behind so i can get enough torque to loosen them. It appears to me that all the brake hardwear is in the way. Anyone have experience with this? Perhaps I should just pay someone with an impact wrench do the dirty work?

The rotor assby on mine(4x4) is held on with little conical shaped washers that fit into bevels on the hub assby. There are two threaded holes that you can push (pull) the cap off with to get to the spindle and bearings. Mine have been off enough to where I tap on the side of the assby with the nuts loosened and the cones pop out. Yo might try that too.

Hope you get it to working.
