The truck i am looking at is a silver 95 4x4 ext cab sr5. It has power windows, locks, mirrors, tilt cruise and ac. The truck is came up from carolina about three years ago, and is still rust free. It is a auto, and has 167k on it. It has the towing package, a toppper, bedliner, bud deflector, window deflectors, aluminum rims, fairly new 31's, flowmaster exhaust and k&n air fiter. I can get the truck for $4700. For how hard it is to find one in the slat bed area that does not have rusty fender wells, let alone underbody, does that seem like a decent deal? Thanks..
I have been searching for 2 months, and this is best deal on one in this good of shape.

Since it came up to you...I'd have one of those mobile mechanics look the truck over (fer a fee of course). I hear that some will even give a guarantee to what they inspect it fer and not failing. It's definitely worth the investment.
A truck's worth is only as good as yer willing to buy into it and the seller's word. The rest should be tested with inspections. :D

I'm with bamzip on this. It would be nice to verify its condition... Someone should jack it up and pry on the wheels, check ball joints, tie rod ends, steering box, idler, etc. Bounce the shocks, see what the fluids look like, look all around under the vehicle for spray, See if you can find out the last time the timing belt was done, and finally check the doors close tight/true and all that electric stuff works properly.
I personally think it would be a quite good deal at 4700 even if you had to do some of the minor above work. I've been looking for a black topper for about a year... and your truck is going to come with a matching one.
Well, I will not be able to probably afford to have a mechanic look it over at this point, due to the exhuast going bad on my 91 yota, but I will definetley look it over. The guy is willing to meet me halfway between me and him, which is about a hour and half drive for him to meet halfway, so he must have some faith in it running still ;). I will try and make a list of things to look over on the truck when I get there..
He did say he had the steering rod(or whatever it was) recall done on it, and had it aligned a couple of months ago, and it is aligned still now, so it sounds like the joints aren't in too bad of shape.. Will have to see for myself..
A couple pics.. Is the paint a metalic silver or a gray?

I think that a pretty good deal my truck is exactly the same exept for color and i more miles 201K.
they are really fun trucks to drive.
My truck is reconstructed and it is cost me about 7600.00
but for 7600.00 i got a almost whole other truck for parts.
so if it runs real smooth and the oils look good i woiuld go for it.
also make shure to find out about the timing belt .
if owner does not know then i would replace right away . my truck was done at 167k
that is another almost 900 bucks ,might as well replace water pump too.
mention the timing belt to the owner and maybe he will drop some more
good luck!
