I have a blown airbag on my 96 T100. The fender was BARELY dented and the bag blew. Anyone else have this problem ???
How should I go about fixing the Aigbag light so I can pass inspection ??? I don't really care about the actual airbag itsself. (I have been in MANY serious accidents and NEVER had them actually go off...)
I just need to get the system kosher enough so I can pass inspection ! any ideas guys ???

If they are only looking fer the light...just unplug the center sensor below the radio... ;)

actually I have no idea... when they run OBD2 does it check for airbag lights or problems?? I don't think it does...
you said I can unplug the sensor below the radio huh ? I know the controller for the ABS is underneath the radio in a lot of cars. I'm assuming its the same here ? what should I do, just pull the connectors and see what happens?
I will have to go hit up a junkyard for a new steering wheel...
the only thing is... is this really any easier than fixing it the right way ?

ODBII doesn't check the airbag system at all. You need another tool specifically to do that. Other than the tool...it's the light. Depending on the person checking the vehicle...they may/may not look fer the airbag light to light up when you turn the key on. It's a gamble you have to take... ;)
The plug to the center sensor is just one plug...it's easy to unplug/plug. ;)

Way too complicated...the center sensor method only takes a minute or so... ;)

niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice this is good news !
curious though... what if I where to try to renew my airbag... Would just grabbing a new fender sensor and airbag from a junkyard do the trick ?? or do I need a special diagnostic tool to reset the system ??

I'd read the code from the airbag system to see what the code was. You can reset it following the special reset method. Do some searching...you'll find it. :D
Or you can pay Toyota to do exactly the same thing...fer about $100 or so. :(
