Zuke76 08-18-2009, 01:23 PM Anyone use these on their truck as replacement for the live/locked hubs. JC Whitney has them for $92 with free shipping.http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2000923/c-10101/Nty-1/p-2000923/Ntx-mode+matchallpartial/N-10101/tf-Browse/s-10101/Ntk-AllTextSearchGroup?Ntt=t100+hubs
I recently put them on my truck that came equipped with A.D.D. hubs. Really easy install. I just removed the drive flange (with the cone washers), and bolted these right on.
Zuke76 08-18-2009, 02:44 PM Did you take the wheel off?
Did you take the wheel off?
No, didn't have to.
BamZipPow 08-18-2009, 04:18 PM Yer best bet is to go with the Aisin hubs...they don't stick out as much and are easier to find parts fer and work on. You can probably find a set cheap on Craigslist or on the other Toyota boards...look under the Fer Sale section. ;)
Zuke76 08-19-2009, 07:35 AM Most of the Aisin ones I have seen on ebay are going for $120+ and are in need of rebuilding.

I guess you need the 27 spline hubs...$100 Buy It Now (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290341303636) or you can gamble that someone will bid on these starting at $50... ;)

Zuke76 08-19-2009, 10:57 AM The rebuilding process looks easy but is nothing replaced? Do you just clean and re grease?

I guess you could replace the O-ring and any parts that might need replacing. ;)
fourwd1 08-19-2009, 01:57 PM Usually they just need cleaning and regreasing. If internal parts are damaged, they've really been abused. I beat the heck out of my trucks offroad and have never broken a hub. The spring inside hasn't even worn out. But you can get replacement parts.
Just make sure you don't get hubs from a solid axle mini-truck, they won't fit even though they look the same.
Zuke76 08-30-2009, 09:12 PM Ok I put mile marker one on my t100. I know Aisin are the best but I got a great deal on the MM ones brand new.
So I had to beat the living crap out of the cone washers to get them to pop off but just when I was going to quit they popped off. I used a custom made alumunum head hammer I made in machine shop 15 years ago. It worked well.
So anyway when I put the new hub body on, the gold 12mm bolt/washer would not fit.. The washer was too wide and hit the hub before the nut could catch. Its was getting late so i installed the hubs without the 12mm gold bolt. Is this the right way? Do I need the gold bolt with the manual hubs? I have not driven it yet. i just jacked it up and tested the wheel rotation (no issues).
I didn't use anything but the hub, gaskets, hex screws and lock tabs on mine. Nothing else was necessary with my A.D.D. hub. I seem to remember messing with the bolt, deciding it was for a different hub, and it wouldn't fit anyway.
Zuke76 08-31-2009, 07:48 AM Yeah, I read few different forums and the consensus is that the gold bolt needs to be on there to stop the cv shafts from sliding around. Mile Marker did provide a pair of replacement washers and bolts. I will try to put them on tonight. If it doesn't fit, i will go and buy a longer bolt.
dj99 where are the lock tabs used?

Under each of the 6 nuts. You tighten the nut, and then bend the lock tab so it contacts the nut. It will prevent the nut from vibrating free, and also the guy with a socket wrench from popping your hub off so quickly.

Cool I was going to use lock washers and loctite. I read the main issue with a/m hubs from warn and MM for yotas are the mounting bolts. The Aisin ones use the cone washers that work well on yotas. The Warn and MM do not use the cone washers and are very seseptable to becoming loose on toyotas.
Zuke76 09-01-2009, 07:35 AM Foe anyone else that has this issue. To replace the gold bolt/washer get yourself 2x 8m1.25 20mm or 25mm bolts, 2x 5/16 lock washers, 2x 5/16 fender washers. The 20mm length bolts will reach the end of the spindle and use the lock washer and fender bolt in the same position the gold bolt was. Tighten it very lightly with very low torque.
