Hello Toyota enthusiasts. I am still new to this forum so bear with me. I just finished a bear of a job rebuilding my sending unit on my 94 pickup. It had a small gas leak. I ran new tubes through the top plate and re- welded it and saved $175.00 (dealer only item). If i can help anyone please let me know. I also have a small problem with a loss of power. It is o.k. cold, but as soon as it has been running about exactly 5 minutes, it starts running real ruff and loses power completely and boggs right down. I get on the highway and go to work, a 20 minute ride, and problem is gone entirely. I could drive all day and no problems. shut it off for a couple of hours, take a ride, after about 5minutes, same problem, then dissapears. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Hey there:)

first off, when was the last time you did a tune up on the truck?

Have you checked for gunk in the intake?

hey there, sorry about the slow reply. I did a full tune up first thing and still identical problem. i replaced air flow meter and still same problem. intermittent problems are a royal pain. I did shine a light in the intake and there was some gunk in there. i guess that cant help. how should i clean that? wrap something on a stick to reach it, or take it apart all the way? i have seen other people on this forum with same exact problem. some people tell them anything from checking vacuum lines, to throttle position sensors to o2 sensors to egr valves.what a pain. i cant wait to find it though.
