T100 Gas mileage???

Does anyone have a mid 90's T100 extended cab 4wd with the 3.4 liter V6 engine. I just bought a 1989 4wd mazda truck which gets 17-21mpg and does not have enought power to pull much of anything. I heard that the t100 4wd with the 3.4 L 190hp engine gets about 17mpg in the city and 20-25mpg on the highway. Is this true!!!

i checked mine for the first time yesterday and i'm getting 18mpg on average. my gf's dad gets 22mpg in his.

oh, they're both 96s manny trannies. his has 130,000 and mine has 247,000
