xB is really nice interior, and u can do a whole lot of shit to it. mileage is decent, i think like in the 30's or so. power isn't all that great, but ofr the price, u can throw in an extra couple grand and get the Blitz SC:D

i don't own one though, and have never driven one, so i guess i can't really comment:lol:

I was thinking the same thing about 8 months ago, but then when they were released here, no body seem to know anything about them, I've only seen 2, and know of at least 6 here. So they may not be as popular as you'd think.

My vote: get it, you'll love it.

On the other hand, VERY popular here in SoCal. I can't go a day without seeing at least half a dozen.

Just FYI the Blitz SC adds a whopping 23.3 hp to the wheels, not worth the 3500 entry fee.

I'm waiting for the ELP turbo kit, he just dyno'd it and its putting down an extra 50hp, and he's not done with the tuning...

I've only seen two here in town, but they haven't been released here yet... one was white with some graphics, driven by a chick  the other was orange and looked absolutely stunning. If you get one, number one priority should be making it unique before everyone has one... then the turbo, of course :D

We bought a Hot Lava XB a month ago. I do love it!
You can't race everybody from the green light, but if you do a lot of highway driving... it will blow by everything... ours has great top end!
We opted for the cold air intake which made a big difference.
We know someone with a 5 speed that we thought was faster than our automatic but after a better comparison the 5 speed just has a little better take off. Once you're past your first couple gears they are nose to nose.

Hope that helps you out.

I just got my Hot Lava xB about three weeks ago...I love it so far, it's an awesome car with excellent handling nice acceleration for the engine size, and very roomy for everything I need to lug around with me...I was afraid it was going to fall apart as I drove it because it kinda lloks like it's made entirely of plastic, but it seems really durable and well put together :)

I traded in my 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe for it after owning it less than a year...I started looking at Honda Elements first, and I loved the Sunset Orange pearl it comes in, and I never really considered the Scion until a friend of mine got one and I drove it...I was hooked on it, and when I saw the Hot Lava xB on the trailer at the dealership, I told them to pull it down that I was driving it home...

Three weeks later, I'm still loving it, and turning heads wherever I drive...I've received nothing but positive feedback about it...

What stupid lack of English guy made up the "scion" name? It's weird, and complicated to pronounce. Why couldn't toyota just import it as Toyota instead of making up a blasphemous word?

Bad_Attitude

It is a funny name to pronounce but the name "Scion" means "descendent of"...like descendent of toyota.

Everyone here thinks it is pronounced "sky-on" or "ski-on" of course we have a lot of "cadaver-types" in our area that missed their phonics course in school.

Scion: A descendant or heir
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=scion
pronounced "sigh-on"

I have taken the xB on a test drive. It is a very impressive car, especially for the money. It had excellent road manners, cornered much better then my Camry. Its acceleration was not amazing, though it got the job done. The interior room was bigger then most SUVs, but at the same time it is a very small car.

I drove a couple weeks ago and I love the thing. Yeah its going to need some performance upgrades but I loved the way it handled right off the shelf. Its got a great sporty feel but not race car sporty. And for a 1.5L it does really good with the vvt-i. I'm gunna wait till a great turbo comes out for it or till I find out i can swap a larger engine into it, like a 1.8L. I do custom audio installs for a living and this car is perfect for sound quality. the whole under side of the dash is open (just begging for a couple 8"subs) The front of the dash too is just begging for some gauges. Just about everything about it is set up for custom install.

there are turbo's out for the 1NZ (1.5L engine in there).

in addition, Blitz sells a supercharger for it.

TRD japan has a complete turbo kit for it, as well as i think GReddy does too.

I poked around an xB yesterday and was somewhat impressed... my main complaints would be on the rear door. Once the hydraulic opener things kick in, that sucker flies open! And it's long, so it comes right out at you, it almost gave me a shot under the chin! It also didn't sound very solid when I shut it... there was a bit of rattling. Otherwise, it's a very nice looking little car, and would sure be fun to tool around in.

Nope its Japanese.

And my take on the xB is wow... check out the room. Its roomy as fuck, and you can fit atleast 3 big ppl and have them sit comfortably, or you can just stow tons of crap. It makes sling parts fun, or you can have fun helping ppl move.

Its a nice little big car.

My ‘05 xB joined my other toys two weeks ago, and so far I haven’t found a single thing about it that I dislike and many things that I do like.

It may not be fashionable, but it is stylish!
In 912 miles it’s taken 27.6 gallons of gas for 33 MPG!
The xB doesn’t whine, “Buy me this, buy me that.” like the Z3 and the MINI!
It may not be fashionable, but it is stylish!
Excellent fit and finish - so much better than American build quality!
It doesn’t corner like the MINI or accelerate like the Z3, but the xB is certainly adequate!
It may not be fashionable, but it is stylish!
It gets almost as many compliments and questions as my Z3 and MINI!
It has more back seat passenger room than my wife’s Lexus RX330!
By the way, did I mention that it's stylish!

I bought the car from Verone Pangilinan at Longo Scion in El Monte - give him a call for an easy purchasing experience - 800-619-9928.

It's now been 18 months and 9,550 miles since I brought my xB home, and I still think that it's a great little car! Not a single problem, except some jerk keyed my door.

manual tranny - 32 mpg overall - 9,548/297.8
