NO WAYY!!!! Did they actually produce the Volta?

Okay.... this was said to have been traveling down the freeway on a truck.... in San Jose, California. Picture taken from a guy driving. Looks real to me!!! Any photoshop guru's wanna confirm??? Holy shit I nearly wet myself!!!

They did produce the Volta. Theres three working cars in the world, two silver one red. One in Europe, one in Asia and one in the US. It's probably just on it's way to testing or another car show.

its a real photo, cause in the mirror finish of the side of the car u can see that its raised a bit, (to the bed of the truck) infront u can see tall buildings, and in the mirror finish u can also see "leveL" buildings,

My question is why the hell would Toyota put it on a faltbed like that.... C'mon now Toyota out of all the differetn car carriers they have out there you guys put it on a flatbed?

another question after lloking at that pic.... that shit is dropped lower than my old S-10 lowerider, and I remember having that towed on a flatbed, my pipes and front got all scratched up from them putting it on there... how the hell did they het it up there without messing up anything?

Dunno... probably the same way I saw a Enzo being pulled on a flat bed in last nights program of Rides on Discovery channel

dude... i think that has to be the best photoshop ever, i doubt it is real though. think of it this way... how much is each of those 3 existing Volta's worth as a concept car? Couple hundred grand maybe? Think about it, would Toyota entrust one of 3 unique $100,000+ concept cars to be towed by Joe Shit the Ragman's Towing Company? Come on guys...

Oh, and Im sure that little strap on the rear wheel would be sooooo hard to add in photoshop. :rolleyes:

Anyone notice that the car is situated in exactly the same position on the truck as it is in the picture right from the show? My vote is that it is fake.

^ Not exact.... but pretty close. The shot is lower... and more to the side.

It really doesn't matter if it's real or fake. The car itself is real so the validity of the picture means nothing.

with a car like that..., im gonna have to agree with what was said earlier, they're not goingto trust any shmuck to tow it, and since its so valuable why is it uncovered so that any debris can hit it?

There is no way that this pic could be real.

Guys, you're talking about a model that there are only 3 in the world. Even if there were 10 in the world, Toyota would never have them open exposed like that. It's not like there are mass produced parts for the car. Everything is still "one off" in regards to the Volta.

It's Photoshop, and I give credit to the guy who did it....

Having worked the last Toronto Auto Show, I can vouch that they use whatever means is convenient at the moment. So they break one, they have enough to make a couple more and insurance takes the tab.

Most automakers that chose the enclosed carrier route only do it with cars they intend to sell to the public after...concepts get a tarp at best, or get tucked in after everything else. Picture February in toronto, and the saleen cars rip them out of skydome onto the street for loading onto an open carrier in February, salt and all. That's how it's done...They make them, we drool over them...to them it may as well be a camry...

Just curious, why a twin-turbo for a 7M?

Are they to spool together or sequential?

What kind of turbos do you have in mind?

I wanted a turbo upgrade to shoot into the 450-500HP range with absolutely the lowest possible lag. Twins for that purpose are superior to a single (the twins have a lower polar moment of inertia and require less energy to begin moving them both than the single capable of the same flow requires to start). That and it's a little unique on the 7M...only a handfull world wide running that arrangement.

Most superior would be a sequential setup, but the mechanics of getting them to work right require a few advanced degrees and access to machine shops to custom make parts and control systems I care not to get into, hence they will be parallel. I'm looking long and hard at T3-45 trims. Spool up at 2500, full boost by 3000, pull 20PSI to redline. Ball bearing CHRA's are available that will drop the low end by about 200 RPM faster, but they are 3x the cost.

The volta was infact produced, one concept and 2 working models, someone wrote where they all landed, that I had no idea, but I know for sure they were made. I also heard the buyers (only 1 i thought was sold) were hand picked by some toyota executive

yeah man. since Toyota are stopping production of the North American Celis and MR2's, That leaves the door open to produce the Volta. I hope cuz I really want one.....when(if) i have the money

If the Volta makes it into production it will be under the Lexus nameplate, not Toyota.

regardless of what its going to be/could be badged as, its not going to be cheap.
