Tundra for 2005 offers a powerful new 4.0-liter V6 engine, and significantly more horsepower in its 4.7-liter V8 engine. Tundra V8 models gain a new standard five-speed automatic transmission, and Double Cab models offer newly available curtain and seat side airbags.

For 2005, the i-Force DOHC V8 gains variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-i) to boost horsepower from 240 to 282. Torque has increased by 10 lb-ft. to 325 lb-ft. at 3,400 rpm.
