How much does a typical Tune up cost?

I've got quoted a lot of different prices... Just wondering what the average was.

If you just want to replace spark plugs and check the timing, it's around $60 I believe... Many shops do other stuff to jack up the price. Just ask them for spark plug replacment and timing.

what kinda tuneup? minor or major? theres a big difference.

My major tuneup cost me around $1000 CAN.

-Oil change
-Coolant flush
-Replace spark plugs
-Timing belt change
-Brake system bleeded
-Valve cover gasket change
-Throttle body cleaning
-Misc bearings needed replacement
-Engine shampoo

all together with labor it was around 1 G.

It doesn't matter how mechanically incliened(sp) you are but some of those tasks can be done easily on your driveway.. You just need one of the weekends and Haynes manual...
