CorollaDriver 12-01-2004, 05:06 PM dear santa,
I have been a very good boy this year. I only have one thing on my wish list. I would like a vitz. Specifically, the one pictured in the link above...
thank you in advance
dna59 12-01-2004, 05:22 PM That's a very big improvement over the current one. I wouldn't mind driving that at all.
xpeed 12-01-2004, 09:56 PM  Hope the US will get that in 2005.
rolla-XRS 12-01-2004, 10:30 PM Well you can be guaranteed they are coming to Canada. But this is the first time I've seen a pic.
Now imagine that with the available S/C - SICK! :whatwhat:
TdotTercel 12-02-2004, 08:09 AM hitting Canada in '06 maybe :dunno: New Echo hatch ???????
:whatwhat:
Ne0z31 12-02-2004, 09:59 AM can anyone say new civic si mixed with ford focus?... with a lil bit of matrix involved... thats what i see...
Ukrainian102 12-02-2004, 02:34 PM Yea, that, and it looks a bit Scion-ish cause of the logo on the front. Not as original as the current Yaris, but still hot.
toyotachick 12-03-2004, 02:36 PM Hot...
Voodoo.Priest 12-03-2004, 05:34 PM Not bad. Not bad at all.
2006 model in 2005 maybe....
Lasse D 12-17-2004, 10:25 AM We should see the new Yaris on the roads next year, or so I have thought for the last few years. The current Yaris was something completely new for Toyota when it came out in 2000 and desirved its European Car of the Year award with so many new innovations, sporty set-up, excellent gearbox and good safety ratings. Its score at euroncap is better than the BMW 5 series, and they are without the extra airbags!
The only thing bad about this car is the quality of the plastic. Inside it feels cheap and outside (on the earlier models) the color on the dark gray parts fades.
I'm looking forwards to try the new Yaris out, this time I might even buy one.

The plastic interior don't bother me much at all, as long as it won't break down in the middle of a journey, that's all I care about. But yeah, the 2nd gen looks much better. I don't mind trading the HB in for this new one, but I'd still keep this HB for now (since it's the 1st gen, which is special).
XRS_JAY 12-21-2004, 04:33 PM I can almost Guarantee that vehicle is coming to canada in a Sedan and Hatch version in 2005 (Fall) as a 2006 Model Echo, We have been informed from Toyota Canada that there is a completely redesigned Echo for 2006 and I would assume that is it. Cansidering the Echo in Canada was a version of the Vitz/Yaris from the begining. As Toyota USA Refused the Echo when it was introduced to North America as a replacement for the Tercel in 2000, and the Fact that they have the Scion Line I highly doubt they will see this car.
ratboycom 12-21-2004, 05:53 PM we will get it in 06MY that is the official word from a Toyota Rep
andyman61 12-21-2004, 07:23 PM sweeeeeeeeeeeet!
now let's just hope they drop in the 2zz...

It is expected to come out in Europe Fall 2005. Looks like Toyota is aiming for the 5 stars at Euroncap.
Right now Renault Modus is the only "supermini" with this rating, but I think it is to big to be a supermini, it is more like a mini MPV.
echo_hrs 01-02-2005, 03:14 PM Sure, it will probably be the next-gen Echo Hatch we get in Canada, but they will definitely fuglify it first with longer bumpers like they did to our current Echo Hatchback to meet the 8km crash standards...
TRDcrazy 01-03-2005, 04:08 PM nice car hopefully we'll get it in the US! o and what's Euroncap?
Lasse D 01-03-2005, 04:40 PM The European crashtest organisation. Much like NHTSA in America. It is pretty tough, but the car makers have improved a lot since it was introduced.
