Okay...I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anybody has any information on how to work the MP3 player a 2005 xB? The dealership does not supply any information (manual, users guide) for the CD/MP3 player in the xB. Now...I'm a Mac user and I have an iPod full of songs. I want to know how to play these songs or store them into the factory MP3 player of the xB (besides burning the songs to CD-WR and playing them in the CD player). Does anyone know how to do this or know where I can get a manual? Thank you.

Stock player does not have a hardrive/memory.....therefore you can't store any songs on it....

Then what is so MP3 about it? There's no AUX jack to plug in a MP3 player to play MP3s. And on the deck itself there are buttons labeled "folder". If no hard drive...what folder are they talking about?

Wouldn't it be the folder (s) on your mp3 burnt CDR. I may be mistaken but I"m pretty sure there are very few cars out there that are mp3 with an aux. jack except maybe element. Most are just mp3 capable i.e. 3-4 cd's on one disc. Store them in different folders for organization and the deck buttons allow you to scroll and pick them

Anyone know about iTunes and how to convert ACC files and burn them as MP3 on a disc so that I might be able to use this function? Also anyone know why Scion or Pioneer doesn't provide a manual to the CD/"MP3" player?

zeboyim -

i'm not 100 per cent sure, but i know with m4a files, you have to make them audio cd's first, and then rip the audio cd back into mp3's. the version of nero that came with my cd/rw drive allowed me to do it, but just a limited number of times. as far as acc files go, it's probably the same. there's probably a converter out there, but it's most likely something you'd need to pay for.

my tC came with a manual for the stereo, and from what i understand, it's the same stereo, seems kind of weird.

I never got one. I looked everywhere through all the paperwork and everything and never could find it. It's not to big of a deal I guess. I could go to the dealership to get one maybe but its not worth it. Thanks everyone.

I just used mine for the first time a couple of days ago. I just burnt an mp3 file onto a CD and it plays in the car stereo. Kinda nice cause you can fit a LOT more mp3 files on a CD than you can regular music files. Not really as fancy as they make it out to be, but handy. I think that they don't give you any info cause there really isn't anything to it, it just plays mp3 files burnt onto a disk.

Yeah, if I remember there's the owners man and a seperate radio man. Go to the dealer and get it.

Also, what people are saying is correct. There's no internal storage in the player. Just have to provide it with CDR's that have MP3's burned on.

My 2 cents on the MP3 dilemnas... are there any adapters for players that will work with stock Pioneer unit? Specifically Zen Micro...

Also, I too struggled with the Stereo Manual, I ended up e-mailing via the Scion.com site and after 2 attempts, eventually got 2 copies of the manual in the mail about 3 days apart... albeit 6 weeks after first request. Helped overall, but not much that trial and error would not have eventually born out.

Do the tc's come standard with the mp3 or do you pay xtra for it. i just test drove one today and the guys says it has mp3 but the sticker didn't mention anthing about it.

btw: why are all the dealer option soo $$$$$$?

Look you guys....The stereo is just MP3 compatible. What this means is that you can burn 100-200 songs on a cd and the cd player will understand it. A lot of stereos are going to this format. It has nothing to do with an MP3 player built in or iPOD ready....just the type of cd you can play

i guess i phrased my ? wrong. the ? is, does the tc play the mp3 cds with the bone stock stereo or is it one of the upgraded stereos with the satelite/6 cd changer?

the stock radio plays mp3's as well as the in dash 6 disc changer.. only difference is obviously 6 discs and the ability to change the illumination color on the 6 disc.. that's the only difference..

and it only plays mp3's, not wma or mp2 (very old school).. no mpeg4 either.. cd-r and cd-rw works fine..
