Guys, the car is a corolla 82, I have a problem shifting sometimes at 1 and most of the time when I am at 2 I find it difficult to transfer to 3, I can hear crackling sounds before I could successfully engage it.

History : The cluch was replaced recently because it started to drag. The shop replaced the cluch disk, pressure plate, pilot bearing and release bearing.

The clutch is no longer slipping but he "hard to shift problem" is still there...

Check for a leaking clutch master or slave cylinder .

5th gear popping out isnt usually a synchro problem, its a problem with the sprocket or shiftercables :P

Sorry - Corrections: The crakling sound is because the clutch is so low that I can't reach the floring enough (during high speed). The problem is at start up from stop the shifter is a little heavy although I pushed the clutch all the way down the floring (of course at stop, to avoid accidental release).Clutch is cable-type.
