My toyota 4x4 is stuck in 4 wheel drive. The shifter works fine in every
other gear but won't go out of 4 wheel drive. Clutch seems to be releasing
toward the top of the pedal throw.

on the dash stays lit? And/or does it FEEL like it won't disengage -
binding, stalling in tight corners?

And give us a clue - what year, model, option package (auto or manual hubs)?
