Hi all; new to the forum; my first post; please help.

'97 T-100, manual tranny, 170k miles, won't start despite new battery and new (rebuilt) solenoid. Does nothing when turn the key except light up the instrument panel lights.

Checked ground wire continuity today; good (0.5 ohms), ground wire connections (at oil pan and battery are clean). Other battery terminal is clean as well.

Tomorrow will check clutch switch and ignition key switch (how do I check key switch).

Could the security system be causing problem. I have new battery in my secure-key and it seems to activate and deactivate the system normally?

Would there be any fuses that would prevent starting?

Any other ideas I've missed?...thanks

With a test light check for a supply at both sides of the clutch switch while the ignition switch is in the crank position GEAR IN NUETRAL with the pedal up there should be a supply to one terminal, and the pedal depressed there should be a supply to both terminals. If no supplies at all Ignition switch or it's connector are faulty, if you dont have two supplies with the pedal down the clutch switch is faulty or out of adjustment, the alarm could be at fault too you will have to inspect how and where it is connected.

Good Luck Joe
