Speedo Correction

Is there a way electronically or manually to correct the speedo if I go with a larger tire? On my old F150, there was a speedo gear or VSS gear that cost about $7.00 buck to change out and later models it could be done electronically.

The speedometer on my '94 is driven directly by the cable from the transmission. I would assume that there is no electronic way to change the speedometer calibration. There is a gear assembly on the rear of the transmission that connects to the cable. Perhaps that can be swapped out for a different ratio. As I recall, several years ago there were adapters available that connected between the transmission output and the cable to do the job. They were considerably more that $7.00, though. I imagine a speedometer shop, specialty 4wd shop, or such (maybe even a dealership) would know what is available now.

There may be some differant ratio gears that fit the box eng of the cable avaliable from Toyota, or Automotive gauge specialists can manufacture ratio boxes that fit in line with the speedo cable. the latter would be more than $7.00.
