cam2Xrunner 05-10-2005, 09:24 AM OK I'm pretty sure this is the route I'm going now. Been doing a hell of alot of research and this is where I'm at.
I might go with a different screen and computer, still doing some research.

Question..what's the diff. btw midrange vs. midbass? I always used the terms interchangably. Skool me :o:
eddiem67 05-10-2005, 02:00 PM where is all this stuff going to fit?

:D
A midrange driver will handle frequencies like vocals, a midbass will handle drum beats etc.
eddiem67 05-10-2005, 04:37 PM midbass 80Hz to 315Hz
midrange 315hz to 4KHz
Give or take an octave
cam2Xrunner 05-10-2005, 04:37 PM where is all this stuff going to fit?
Oh I'm going for a Stealth install BTW too.
 Yeah right. The whole backseat area will be used up, I think I'll be able to figure something out.
I'm probably going to go to the BBQ Marv is having and have him take all the measurements while I'm there.
cam2Xrunner 05-10-2005, 04:39 PM The 10.4" screen should just fit into the opening where the stock CD player, the computer will probably be built into the amp/clrossover rack.
It's defintiely going to be a challenge. but I have alot of room to work with.
Anshu 05-10-2005, 06:00 PM drooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

cam2Xrunner 05-10-2005, 09:19 PM I'll be doing the deadening myself, and sound proofing myself. I'm going to try and build some kicks, we'll see how that turns out.
The enclosure/amp rack will be built by Marv.
I'll be installing the 8's myself in the door's using mdf adapters made by Marv.
I'm going to build the computer, and install the 10" monitor as well.
Once I have everything installed, I'll probably be getting some help in fine tuning the system from npdang of www.diymobileaudio.com
Right now I'm trying to get the amps I need and the computer parts.
In the next few day's I'll be doing the sound proofing.
rawdawg 05-10-2005, 10:56 PM Give me an audition when it's done. I'd love to hate you in person. Fish Tacos and Tecate's on me.
Hey, is npdang still in OC or is he back in Berkeley?
Wait a minute! What barbeque? rawdawg loves me some barbeque.
Anshu 05-10-2005, 11:15 PM how much deadening?

Definitely let you check it out when I'm done. Probably a good 6 months from now though.
Don't know where npdang resides, I am ordering the speakers from him though.
Marv is throwing his annual bbq this June. He lives in monterey County, feel like going? Supposed to be on June 11th.
cam2Xrunner 05-10-2005, 11:34 PM how much deadening?
Probably about 150-175 sq ft of raammat60. About 75 sq ft of closed cell foam for blocking road noise.
DMDrew812 05-11-2005, 06:16 PM Dude, are you sponsered yet?
cam2Xrunner 05-11-2005, 06:28 PM pssh. I wish.
I will be competing in Iasca though, but it's just for fun.
I kinda have a sponsorship with Rotora, but that's not a real sponsorship.
Anshu 05-11-2005, 07:45 PM Probably about 150-175 sq ft of raammat60. About 75 sq ft of closed cell foam for blocking road noise. WOW jesus, have fun with that

cam2Xrunner 05-14-2005, 09:09 PM I'm far from the expert, but thanks.
The link's a PDF, you might have 56k, anyways they have a nom rms rating at 70 w rms @ 8 ohms.
Now are you talking about going with a 3 way setup or 2 way.
What are your plans so far? Have you decided to go with the H700 processor?

Heck no man, I couldn't tell you a damn thing about wiring up an alarm.
I've done quite a few audio installs though.
Racer_Rodney 05-16-2005, 10:29 PM very impressive componants
I really like the oldschool PPI, wish I could hear it

i can tell you about wiring up an alarm with remote start....
IT BLOWS
you spend 6-8 hours wiring the thing up then you spend another 2 trying to figure out what you did wrong....:whatthe:
:disappoin
cam2Xrunner 05-18-2005, 03:22 AM So Klaymen, mind doing a DIY Writeup on an alarm installation for a 2005 Tacoma? That would a awesome sticky for the 2005+ Tacoma section.
I know I could definitely use that info

I hope it all turns out as good as I plan it to. Only thing I'm worried about is if I'll have enough room for Kickpods to house the mid and the Ribbon Tweeter. I gotta have room to shift

 IMO its not that bad, but then again I use to work as a installer.
The hardest part is finding the correct wires. Especially if you don't know where to look for them.
Another thing is positive and negative triggers. If you don't know what the difference is, good luck.
Having a print out of the wire locations and colors helps. But sometimes the print out is wrong, so you end up having to find the correct wire.
Knowing how to use a DMM is a must.
mcv30 05-18-2005, 11:50 PM Ah I see, so what you got coming???
One of my packages arrived in the morning today, I'll post a sneak peek image tomorrow ;)
