T-100 Oil Question [Archive] - Toyota Forums

I have a 1994 4x4 T-100 pickup. It has 133,000 miles. It uses about 1 quart of oil every 1000 miles. The pickup runs fine. Should I be concerned with the oil useage?

If it is indeed a quart every 1000 miles, then Yes. Losing that amount is usually and indicator of a larger leak or burning the oil in the combustion chamber. Is this the 3.0L engine or the 4cyl? Check to see if you are leaking oil anywhere. Look around the valve covers and oil pan. Check to see if the rear main seal is leaking. My 3.0L V6 with 175000 miles is leaking some around the rear main seal and the valve covers and only uses about a 1/2 quart in about 3000 to 4000 miles.
