Do you change the belt at 60,000 miles or 90,000 miles on a 98 Corolla? It was manufacturered July 1998.

I know with my Avalon there was some confusion cuz apparently that year was when the ones made during the 1st half of the year were 60k, while afterwards was 90k. (Turns out mine was changed at 60k anyway....)

Any idea???

I thought the 1ZZFE motor has a timing chain.. not a belt.

So if that's correct then it's every 120k or so right? I didn't know that Corollas have a timing chain.... since when?

Infinity. The chain last almost forever so you don't change it.

incorrect. toyota recommends you change it every 192000 KM .. I've ridden up to 240 000 km on my older GM car before without any timing issues.. but I would change it at atleast 250000km
