Anyone have this probem, and is there an easy fix? Thanks TRD 4Runner 09-22-2002, 03:14 PM Most likely got a sticky speedo wire. Take the wire speedo cable off, and pump it full of WD-40. If you still got a problem, it might be the speedo wire gears. You can tell if the gears are crunched when you keep accellerating, but the speedo stays steady at a certain speed...wiggling. Ludes TRD 4Runner 09-23-2002, 08:47 PM Take the gauge assembly out, then unscrew the speedo wire out the back. You cannot miss it...it's big and fat, and screwed in right behind the speedo gauge. BUt anyway ive got a good one for u my speedo is eratic. some times it will basicly say im doing around double of the speed im actually doin. does anyone know what could be wrong. i know its not in the tranny cuz that was rebuilt after it started. it is cable operated | |
