Sub and Amp Question

How would get most power out of this set up? Here's the amp (http://shop.store.yahoo.com/discountsonline/kenwoodkac728.html) and here are the subs that Im going to run. (http://www.sounddomain.com/shop/item.pl?sku=KENKFCW2503) . Is this set up going to be loud? thanks everybody

If I'm not mistaken, the subs are single voice coil and you're only using one sub. If that's the case, there really isn't much you need to consider. Just wire them up and enjoy.

Whether it's gonna be loud or not, truthfully, you maybe alittle disappointed. Not because the product is cheap or anything, just that I found the Camry to be so well insulated that it takes alot of bass to penetrate the rear seats from the trunk to fill the cabin.

That's not the best amp to run two subs. I'm assuming those Kenwood subs are Single voice coil, and that amp is something like 100x2 or 300 watts x 1 bridged at 4 ohms. You would have to run each sub on each channel. However, if your head unit provides a stereo signal to the amp, that's not good. Hopefully your head unit provides a mono signal for it's rear suboutput.

I have 1 12" sub in my trunk with an amp that is bridged to produce 150 watts RMS at 4 ohms. It's good enough for my needs, but don't expect to wake up the neighbours with that amp...but if it's in your 4Runner, it'll be pretty loud for sure.

Those subs are 600watts max, 300rms, i believe, and the amp runs 150x2 at 4ohms, the amp will be alright with the subs... Nothing overpwering but it depends what you are looking for..If you are looking for something to wake up the neighbors then look at some JL's or Kickers..
To be honest with i havent heard the greatest thing about them...i have two 12in pioneer and they sound alot better then my friends two 12in kenwood :D ..plus he is running a better amp...its up to u though.

Or so they say. Most of the time, i find that amps put out less power than advertised, because the advertised power output is peak power output. Even if you get it nice and loud, your amp might just be overworked. Frankly speaking, you can never have too much power. A more powerful amp will give you cleaner sound. I'm running a single Kicker C10D with a Soundstream 500s. Sub is rated at 300W Max. amp power, amplifier is rated at 500WRMS x 1. Just lovely.
Seriously, you get what you pay for applies here. Don't cheap out on the amps and you won't regret it.

True. But even if they state their RMS power, they can also play a trick on you that the RMS rating is from running at 14.4V. Now our batteries certainly aren't at 14.4V, it's usually at around 12V (for North America).

The real RMS rating is based on real-life testing and not from theoretical numbers on simple calculations. For example, Kenwood amp that will give you true RMS rating in their spec is their Excelon line.

That amp he's looking at will certainly have a lower RMS rating than advertised.

So it all comes down to the brand/product line that you're looking at that shows whether or not the rating is honest in itself.

Ohh def. the more the spend on amp/sub the better performance...if you cheap out on your sytem then you are going to get cheap sound...thats just how it is..you get what you pay for is right

well... i only have about a 150 watt subwoofer system... thats when i have the amp pushin at max. now any one of my friends can tell you for what i got pushin my subs, it hits extremely hard. i got JL 12w1's... 4ohm bridged... produce a 2ohm load, so...
