Ok guys here goes. i'm a 20 year import ASE master tech 11 years with Mazda. I have a 1995 T-100 3.4 litre auto, 4X4 Xcab. All I drive is Toyotas and lately I have had an on going problem with mine. When I bought my truck 3.5 years ago it had a K&N filter in it. I threw it in the trash a year and a half ago and put a Toyota air filter in it. Two weeks or so ago I had my Ck eng lite come on for the first time in 130,000 miles with a p0170 lean condition and not idling happy. Talked to my local hook up at the toyota dealer and he said to check for a vacuum line off at the back of the intake plenum, sure enuff there was a small one off at the back and I re connected it and cleared the code and cleaned the booger off of the air flow meter. p0133 and p0130 showed up shortly thereafter Light was off for three days. Replaced bank1 sensor one with a factory O2 sensor p0170 returned and was advised that it was damaged from the K&N filter. Purchased a new $5xx.xx air flow meter because I'm sick of looking at my ck eng lite. I installed it Friday 8 26 2005 after work and cleared the code. Today 50 miles later the p0130 and p0133 show back up again. I love my truck and preach excellent maintenance to everyone yet my T-100 is still not happy yet. HELP!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I may have the same problem. But I don't know how to retrieve the diagnostic code off the computer. Can I do it without buying a special machine?
Jim
I have the same truck and same problem. The light comes on for a few days and goes off. Haven't replaced anything and sounds like it good I haven't
What's up wiht the K&N filter? What's the issue?
What is the "booger on the air flow meter"? Sounds like part of a normal preventative maintanance procedure. Can you expand and clarify a bit.
Thanks.:)

I too have a 170 code. Mine is a 95 2wd Automatic.
Just want to know if a K&N filter can do damaged to the meter or what? Please let me know because I have been using one for a year. Thanks

i dont know about codes but this is what mine was doing and finally fixed.started bogging down between 3000 to 4000 rpm. if you were in gear slightly higher than rpm than it would bog down you would down shift to get rpm back up then hit 3000 and it would bog down more, made for unpleasant driving.i started with new fuel filter, then new plugs then had throttle body cleaned, none worked took to my toyota dealer came up o2 sensors were bad they put two in . helped problem little.took back they played with seperated plug wires tighted down loose intake screws cleaned air mass sensor, took out k@n put stock air cleaner in. helped for couple days. took back to dealer they now said it was plug wires were jumping spark they replaced the entire set remember these are the coil wires and are very expensive.but the new wires has so far fixed problem. hope this helps cause it frustraited the crap out me.
