Except the tC. The tCs are made in Kentucky along with the Camrys, mainly because the tC is only available in North America.

The xB and xA are all from Japan. xB variant to the Toyota bB, and the xA variant to the iSi. And I was right about the new 2006 models changes. The lights are awesome and so are the new bumpers. Too bad though, because there's plenty of the 2006 models here in California.

I'm at week 6 of my "waiting period". I ordered a white xB w/a manual tranny..
I was called last week to be informed that "You didn't get it in July, August, and we doubt if you'll see it in September"...
If I had ordered something a bit more flashy, (OK, anything with an Auto Tranny), I'd have the car by now. They've been trying to pawn off used ones on me for the last couple weeks. My reply was that I didn't "order" something used.:disappoin
I guess patience will be the key..??..

On the other hand, I had $3K to put down on the car when I ordered it, on top of the $500 deposit. I now have $6.5K to put down.. Hell, by the time it actually arrives, I'll be able to pay cash. Of course that'll be 2007.:ugh3:

Yea, I'm patiently waiting on my box too. The dealer tried to sale me a blue auto but I ordered a black stick. I order 18" Zinik wheels and BF Goodrich Kdw tires through the dealer, not sure if they are coming through on this part of the deal either??

From what I gather, when you order, you're just placing your name on a list for the basic car (ie. color/tranny) and the dealer installs the rest.
All I ordered was the basic xB with fog lights and the arm rest. I plan on mounting or having cruise installed afterwards.
When I "ordered" the car, I was told that when you ordered it, they made it and shipped it.. Sounded too good to be true, and it was.
It's allocation at it's finest. Order it, and sooner or later (we hope) they'll make one and have it in your area to go to your dealer.

Oh well, I still have my T100 in the driveway.. Although, I stuck $50 worth of gas in it tonight for driving it 360 miles.

When you "order" a Scion that just means you get on a list for what vehicles that are allocated to that dealership.
I still want to know what city in Japan is home to the xB/bB Plant

if the vin# starts with a J then it is made in Japan.

:cool:The dealer can search other dealers and trade for the one you want. Since the prices are all the same I made sure they could get the one I wanted. No car no deal. They found the car.

dealers dont install anything. everything ordered with the car, minus the transmission, is installed at the long beach port. this means the stuff like radios, subs, speakers, taillights and interior lighting kits.

can't speak for today, but when I got my tC in August 04 it sat on the dealer lot w/o a radio. i picked the one I wanted and they installed it prior to me signing the papers and what not.

I had a similar conversation at the first dealer I went to, who only had 4 xBs on the lot. I went to another dealer about 10 miles away, who had about 25 in stock, one of which was exactly what I was looking for! Shop around! :D

Thats incorrect.....the dealers install everything. The only thing we can't do is paint it and install the transmissions. Those have to come in the car, otherwise, Scion's come with nothing on em.

We have several Scion dealers in my area. One has 19 xB's and the other has 8 of them and they are not moving. They are in all colors and configurations. Check Portland, Oregon, Beaverton, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington dealers. I went on Autotrader.com to find out who had new ones then actually went to the dealers to verify inventory and check options.

For dealers to scam consumers like the ones you are experiencing shows that although selling concepts have supposedly changed according to Scion corporate minions the scum leopards who deal cars have NOT changed their turd spots.

Thats about the most uniformed response I've ever heard.

Dealers DO trade stock but think of it this way. You have a PS3. I have a PS2. I want your PS3 and you don't want my PS2. Are you going to trade me anyway if your not forced to? Dealers are the same way. one dealer might have a car that another dealer wants but if the dealer that needs the car doesn't have anything the dealer that has the car wants, the trade probably wont go down. That being the case, the original dealer has to wait for the vehicle to be allocated and the more you sell, the more you get allocated which means if the dealer he ordered from only sells 2 a month and he's # 20 on the list, he'll be waiting a while.

The cars are not configured on the lot and can be changed. if the dealer refuses to change the vehicle thats on the lot then you order it and they are stuck with a car they'd rather sell. If they have a vehicle in stock and are absolutly not going to change it to sell it, then call Scion Customer Service. Chances are they aren't going to be able to do much but all it's going to do it hurt the dealer and thats the last thing they want.

The plant is located in Toyoda city which is right outside of Nagoya the Vitz\Yaris,bB\xB,and ist\xA are built there along with a couple of other models we'll never see.
