New GS430 Commercial

Just saw the Lexus GS430 commercial today. It was the most un-Lexus like commercial I have seen so far with a GS430 on a race track in the dessert with flames randomly shooting up left and right randomly as the GS430 does hard left and right turns. There are loud exhaust note sounds in the background and then the commercial ends with the GS430 doing a sideways drift and coming to a halt. With the new IS350 as well, looks like Lexus is going directly after BMW by giving a more performance oriented image.

That sounds like a cool commercial, and I hope I get a chance to see it.

That's good to hear. If you're gonna take a shot at Bimmer, you gotta stress performance luxury - not just luxury. But if flames came outta the underside of my car, I'd be thinking warranty claim. :ugh3: :lol:

Makes me wonder what's planned for the IS350 advertising campaign...

Saw that commercial and liked it. I really liked the end. After it comes to a hault from it's sideways drift, they rev the engine. Damn, that car sounded sooo sexy.

I have to agree with silver04rollas. I've seen it. Its not like Lexus to do that. I've rode in a GS, and it's not that noisy.

Thats a cool commerical. Basically, the GS beats fire in a race.
Also, at the end at the very instant the GS revs, the fire goes out, as if the element of fire bows in submission to the power of the GS. :thumbsup:

I agree that GS sounds very quiet while inside the cabin (too much sound deadening) but, due to the new dual vvt-i system, it is substantially louder than the previous GS/LS 430. I have some videos of the new IS350 exhaust note (from clublexus.com) and it sounds very aggressive even while revving inside the cabin.

OMG.. I love that commercial. Didn't really look at it to care enough to see the plot of the damned thing but when that GS430 got it sideways and did that nice throaty quick-blip V8 rev.. I loved it.. ;)

Saw the commercial-very nicely done, with the 'race' between the GS and the fire...And I agree with the guy who said its trying to go after BMW with its performance image--it definately seemed that way.
