400hp trailblazer.

damn that, put it in the Chevy mini-pickup and lower the bitch like the old S10 Xtreme, and then i'd buy one.

it still won't beat the Grand Cherokee SRT-8 - 6.1L 450hp HEMI.

mmmm....HEMI

hey guys i tought this topic was about the 268HP 3.5 V6 in the new Rav4, not about chevy trailblazer or the grand cherokee srt-8, i think that's a lil off topic,................ now getting back to the Rav4 i think it will be one of the fastest if not THE fastest suv in it's segment with the Avalon's 3.5 V6, but it would be a whole lot better if it had the IS350's 3.5, that would be awesome.......................

This may be a retarded question but if the Rav4 received a six cylinder engine, shouldnt its name change from Rav4 to Rav6?

I was once told by someone that the 4 stood for 4 cylinder which made some sense to me...

iirc its the same V6 - 3GRI know but it's a detuned version, but it does kind of makes sense, cause lexus being toyota's luxury brand should have better technology and engineering

Why the off topic shit?

because the guy said "where's GM's American Revolution now", so i pointed it out, that it's a 400hp Trailblazer, and someone else added another hot rod SUV...

so it's not off topic, is it..?

I noticed something VERY important. It's a a 45/10/45 split seat. This means you can carry skis AND 2 ppl in the back comfortably... finally folding seats and a pass-thru.

Just because you put 400hp into a vehicle does not make it a good automobile. What makes a vehicle great is dependability and quality... and a little extra power on the side never hurt.:D But that 400hp won't do you much good if it's in the shop getting repaired all the time now will it? Plus gas prices will probably effect sales. The current trailblazer gets shitty mpg. Give it 400hp and your sucking in even more gas.

the LS2 gets around 16/25, so it pays NO gas guzzler tax...

do you get threatened when another company does up Toyota..?

^Threatened by GM?...

Seeing that the current trailblazer gets 16-21mpg, I can't imagine a larger engine getting better mpg.
Looking at the exterior of the ss, I see nice wheels, a slight cosmetic change, and a lowered suspension. Inside I see the same shitty interior with the exceptions being seats that say SS and a nice shifter. So in conclusion, this thing isn't "showing up toyota."
Threatened...

The LS2 get around 16/25 MPG in a CAR like the Corvette or GTO, but in a 5000lb SUV, it'll get tagged with a gas guzzler tax. I'd expect gas mileage around 12/16 MPG w/o DOD, and 14/18 with.

The RAV4 V6 also uses the 2GR-FE. The 1,3,4 GR engines are strictly RWD or RWD-based 4WD. The 2GR is the only versatile engine used in both FWD and RWD vehicles.

A Corvette engine doesn't stay in the shop all the time. Thats what makes a Corvette a Corvette. The only reason i like Toyota is because they made the most reliable front wheel drive V6 car with a manual transmission. Other than that, i only like the RWD Lexus'.

to me toyota is stepping forward but common how many damn motors do they have now???

its kinda stupid to me.....

nissan got their lineup right..

1.8, 2.0, 2.5 3.5 4.5 5.8...litre motors... most platform share... they are economical.. toyota on the other hand has about 20 different motors now between 3 product lines...

I think Toyota will put the 3.5 V6 in the Camry V6, Avalon, Highlander, Sienna, Rav 4
4.0 V6 in the Tacoma, 4 Runner (possibly hp increase?)
Lexus has their version of the 3.5 V6 that should have over 300hp in the GS, IS, RX?, ES?, SC?

That can't be the new CR-V. It looks like an X3 and it has the current CR-V wheels. It's the same photoshop that made the RAV4 look like a Mazda3 when the photo had the wheels of the current model.
