My 93 toyota 2WD pick-up with automatic overdrive won't shift into 3rd gear unless i shift back to 2nd then back to drive. once i shift to second and back to drive it will go into drive and stay there until the next time i take off. i must shift to 2nd and back to drive every time i want the truck to shift to 3rd gear. once there it will shift to overdrive with no problem.
has anyone else ever had this problem? what was wrong? what did it take to fix it?

try changing the tranny fluid...sometimes, it works wonders on a tranny with factory oil.
