Hey There
This Is My First Posting On Here, Ive Got A 1990 4runner And The Neg. Battery Is Kindof Eat Up And I Need To Get A New One But The Factory Want Like $280. For Cause Of The Way Its Got The Wireing Harness On The End Of It. Does Anyone Know Of A Aftermarket Place I Can Get It? Cause That Would Really Help Not Haveing To Pay $300. For It.

Thanks

Gene

Have you tried your local auto parts store? Try trdparts4u.com. They have pretty competitive prices and great customer service.

Thanks

 Is it just the negative battery cable that you need? You can replace the cable at Walmart for about $15. You can replace both positve and negative and the battery for about $100.

Sorry for the confusion. Must be a lot different from my '86.

Just cut the cable a few inches down from the end, buy a new battery terminal end,a piece of cable and a butt splice connector. Strip the insulation off each end, stick them in the butt splice connector and crimp each end. If its good enough for airplanes, its good enough for toyotas. There's no reason that should not work fine. Good luck

yea thats more than likely what im going to do, but im just kindof anal about everything on my rides looking the same as the way they came.

Then make your splice all the way at the other end where it can't be seen. Obviously, the way your ride came wasn't good enough or it would not have failed...maybe you can improve on the toyota engineers design.
