the computarized prediction of what it may look like, reminds me too much of an '06 IS, and i don't think that lexus' flagship should resemble one of its less expensive models, it should have a look of it's own specially for it being the flagship of the brand

what's with the general trend lately of cars seeming to get taller and shorter?

i think long and sleek should be the trend for regal looks

Loks like all they did was put the body of the current LS on the new platform so they can contiue to hide it fairly well. You can tell the fenders have been cut out but aht is about it from the pictures.

agreed, the first gen LS400 still exudes luxury

I think the PS one was a concept photo that was just floating around. I think the article was talking about the two LSs next to each other. The one on the left is the 460.

It should fit in with the new L-Finesse theme, so I'd expect it to look similar to the Lexus lineup (like you can tell it's a Lexus), but definitely distinct. The LF-A looks like a Lexus, but it has a distinctive shape apart from the rest. I believe the LS460/LS600h will achieve that goal as well.

situman
09-28-2005, 10:38 AM
making it look so much like the IS would be stretching that "L-Finesse" thing a little too far. Besides the headlights look like a current getn camry's.

That so damn ugly for a LS. Man, if Lexus Designers go with that crappy design, then damN! They're one lazy ass guys. The design is fine on the GS and the IS, but the LS needs a seperate design that'll pull away from the other lineups. Yes, I know Lexus are going towards that design mark, but at least put in some more effort into actually making it look like more of a flagship instead of a carry-over from it's lower models. That's the only reason why I like the current design on the Gen 3.5 (2004-2006) :o: And if you guys say if I could design a better car, bring it because I will.

oh, that looks handsome from the rear. Fronts look cool. But I think you should keep the LS' large grill traits. Ever since its debut its had a huge grill that tells people...hey, i have a monster in here.

xpeed
09-29-2005, 03:25 AM
I totally agree with the grille, I didn't realize my mistake until I was done. :hammer:

09-29-2005, 01:59 PM
The back end looks very good, but a bit too much E46 M3 ish. The front end of the third design looks a bit too much like a Corolla.

nice  altho i do agree with the comments about M3ishness and the grille

I think xpeed's drawings look like the infinite m45, so I'm not complaining.:D

Make the trunk a little longer , bigger grille, and maybe a slightly longer hood and we'll have a winner.

Wow. thats a really good pic, and I like every bit of it.

I drove one of the current gen's LS430 last year at the place I worked at. (Detailing shop)

And man of FREAKIN man... You literally feel like on a cloud... so soft, I felt NO bumps, just a light fluff of bouce, but that was it.. Truly a pimp car. :smokin:

I think Toyota is coming up with that underlighting thing on their side mirrors now, since the Avalons only offer them on the Limited. :D

The underlighting on the side mirrors are called puddlelamps. All Lexus vehicles will have them and some Toyota vehicles.

Lexus will reveal a "flagship concept car" in Tokyo next week. It's not the LS but should offer some clues.

http://www.toyota.co.jp/en/news/05/1012.html

Look for the official LS production vehicle debut in Detroit, Chicago or New York.

Is this the new Lexus LS? The most luxurious Japanese car available in the US gets even better?

From the picture, we can see it still won't be as modern looking as the new S Class, or even the Audi A8. But it is getting better.
They are talking about V8, V12 Hybrid.. Who knows.
One thing for sure, a longer wheelbase version will come out shortly after the regular model. They are testing both.

have no clue how. I think they r guessing and there is a chance they are wrong. They also showed the ES and im not sure if it is Legit. But they do hav a Legit pic of the Camry Front. I posted in in the 2007 Camry Thread.

Well the headlights look bold and you can't tell from the pic but whoever saw it in real life can tell it's a big car. You know it's a Toyota since they're using the same camo on the ES and Camry.

very nice!!

But are they making all new Lexuses a fastback design? long hood, short rear deck even on the LS?

that shot looks like the hybrid. For one, it's LF-Sh and also the wheels are similar to the RX400h.

damn..not looking too bad..
the rear does look like a BMW a little.
the current LS has a very "classy" stance.
not to say this one is not classy...but...
the sporty appeal sorta takes away from
it in my opinion.
