So $140 painted for a pair? Not bad, is it easy to install? You got pics of it?

I just uploaded

Sorry but its useless without pictures of the mirrors itself or of it installed onto a Camry. $65 (unpainted) and $105 (painted)? Either sounds fishy to me or its really really cheap product.

I know people are going to ask....does the mirrors fold and are they heated? For me, njerald and a few others, we have the heated mirrors. So we're looking for turn signal mirrors, that fold and are heated. If it doesnt have all 3, no sale for us.

Posted by: lammydi

Very nice finding!!! For a pair that cost $140 count me in.
My color is silver (code 1D4)

Posted by: MrSo0h0o

i dont have a gen 6 but i will speak for others by saying, need pics of the mirrors, website?, and it says mirror covers? how does that work?

It's wierd, we have the same color (silver), but different codes... mine is 1F7.

I'll let Lammy go first on this one. If it comes out good, then I'm next.

...these are COVERS. So, you keep your OEM mirror, which does not fold, but you get to keep your heated mirrors as is.

LOV - I am interested, would be good to see the fitment though before we go into a group buy. Please, ask for a single, unpainted sample for test fit.

Mine is the 2007. I think the 2008 changed to 1F7.

Bleh..I do however want to know how theses will be connected and how wires are routed.

You can find more details about this in here

but i mean my English is not perfect, so if someone else could contact this person instead of me?

Nice. Requires you to remove door panel and run wires to fuse box. however, the person who installed it said he broke the motor (dont know if its to OEM or aftermarket) that moves the mirror when he smacked into his garage. However, it looks good but I'm not handy with my hands when it comes to electrical (surprised I even did the LED taillights all by myself)

Posted by: GT-R V-Spec II

Remove the door panel? Never mind then, I had a bad experience with my old Corolla, where everything starts cracking when I took them apart.

I am afraid if that is all based on that thread...we have a false alarm here. The thread started in 2006 (ended in April 2007) and at that time the latest Gen Camry was a Gen5.5 (but I did not read that entire thread).

I contacted ktdreamwork to find out the exact fitment and ask for pictures installed.

Ok Tobeit, see what he will say and let us know.

I just got a response after 2 hours..for them being in HK it is almost improper .

Anyway, they claimed it fits a 2007+ Gen6 model. I asked for pricing, shipping details (time, cost), and larger quantity buys again. Will see.

WTH? Are they like 24 hours? Its 5am over there.

Posted by: njerald

I'm interested.

I could care less about folding mirrors. Had them on a Chrysler and never used them in 5 years.

Actually.....I have no idea lol

my heated mirrors and seats will probably never be used again...

+3 on the folding part. Never used them on any car, prob comes in handy in tight city spots.

Website says 18 orange LEDs in each cover.

But I would have no use for it in "Sun" Diego.

I am definitely interested if the price ends up being close to what has been mentioned already!!

I am still waiting for a response on that. My guess is that while their base is in HK, the guy answering our e-mails is probably located on the west coast - just my guess. I hope to get an answer this afternoon - best case.

Posted by: Goobee

Would be nice to have the foot light too but I can live without it. Put me down tentatively for a set pending more information on the GB.

Posted by: Tobeit

Update: As expected, I got the following info this afternoon

1 pair unpainted $65
1 pair painted $105
Courier shipment $35
Delivery about 7 days after order
Discount for orders of 5 and more

I ask for what discount and if the discount appliers if we order various color codes.

Posted by: EJA

I'd pay $140 but would be even happier to pay less with a group buy!!

I think this is going to end soon with a good price of group buy

Posted by: Tobeit

Well, I can't promise the group buys...but I am trying

I have so far (please, check):

1 - Tobeit - CC 202 (black)
2 - Goobee - CC ?? (magnetic gray)

PS: If we get a discount and someone else wants to organize it with the vendor...please, let me know. I am buying a house right now and will spend a few weeks in Europe very soon, so my time might be limited.

Classic Silver Metallic (1F7)
Desert Sand Mica (4Q2)
Jasper Pearl (6U6)

Posted by: Tobeit

...maybe I should have them paint mine in Aloe green :-) instead of black.

Posted by: yeuemhoai

I happened to see Carlson Lexus/Toyota having a GB on ClubLexus $179 for unpainted pair shipped (extra for painted option). If we have lots of interest, we can contact them for GB for Camry (even better if they join TN's vendor list).

Okay, I am still negotiating with the supplier. So far, we agreed that he sends me a trial sample in 202 at a cost of $130 including courier shipment within the US. If somebody else has more time than me, please, you are welcome if you like to get that trial sample. If not, I will order and see how quickly I can test them incl the wire installation (probably I would take it to a custom shop to figure out the wire installation). Let me know and I can get back with him to place the sample order (or whoever likes to do it).

You're welcome. Hopefully they aren't just cheap covers with the stick on LEDs that are being sold on ebay.

The insides of the caps should look similar to these:

NJerald,

How often do you use your heated mirrors? (just curious)

I may plan to join in with the purchase
I know you from Tundrasolutions BTW...

No. I agreed with the supplier to order just one for now as a trial and see how they fit and look. He proposed that as I repeatedly asked for pictures and fitment etc. So, I went ahead and ordered just one to test. I told him if it looks good we like to order 5-10 sets of various colors....he did not mention at what if any additional discount beyond the $130 shipped within the US.

So isnt he from HongKong or something?

If so, shipping to US/CAN should be quite similar.

The company home page and his e-mail server address appear to be in Hongkong, but he appears to work out of the west coast (based on his responses, which match that quite well) and they might distribute via a west coast office/center. I will ask if their is a difference anyway.

Goobee, I told him you might want to order a sample too (copied you on e-mail) and gave him your color code (1G3). If you want to go forward with that, send him the payment.

They come on with my heated seats all winter.

When the car is outside and the glass is wet or fogged over, the heat dries them out.

I sorta figured with the "courier" shipping charge of $30. Two plastic covers wouldn't cost much to ship from within the US.

(Not unless you're buying from fleabay and agree to jacked shipping rates. )

Yes. Looking at a 13 LED similar to that.

Should be able to mount it inside just like the covers.

Just a little Dremel work. Won't be able to run them around the corner though.

I'll have to pull the mirror glass out to see what is attached to the mirror housing.

US mirrors are different than mine also.

Posted by: LOV

Yeah, I thought about this too, but didn't like the fact that they wont run around the corner like you said.

If you look at the mirrors directly from the side they are swept back at about a 35 degree angle. At any point from the side view forward the LEDs would be visible.

Posted by: LOV

But still I rather get the covers than mess with this.

Posted by: GHSER7

I'm interested to see how these come out. I'm not worried about folding mirrors either unless they are power folding.

Goobee's will be shipped tomorrow.

I just got the installation instructions forwarded (I don't post it - its 7Mb). From that, these are replacement and not slip over covers. I have not seen that we can take part of our Gen6 mirror cover of - anybody has taken a closer look what parts of the cover can come of and could be replaced? I already asked the kt dreamworks to confirm the application again.

You can't remove our covers so either it is a complete replacment assembly or it is for a different model than ours and it won't fit.

Posted by: Tobeit

That's what I thought and what I responded to the kt dreamworks guy..I am worry it's not for our camry.

Maybe for some Camry but not for the US market GEN6..

Posted by: Tobeit

My only hope is that the instructions they sent is a generic one applicable for all covers...and that our covers are indeed for the Gen6. But my fate is dwindling as I thought of slip over covers for that price - replacement covers would be an entire mirror housing replacement. If it is the latter, it's cheap.

I also inquired again for clarification and all my communication with them is referenced to a Gen6, 2007+ model year camry for the US.

I took pictures of my mirrors and sent them to alibaba.com, who was interested in supplying. Never heard from them again.

hahaha, I did the same with some guys from alibaba...same result.

Posted by: Goobee

I shall remain optimistic at this point. No need to worry until until there's something to worry about.

Posted by: LOV

I think what you have to do is remove your mirror(glass) from existing mirror, and put it back in to the one you get from KT DREAMWORK.

Goobee's will not be shipped until I give kt dreamworks the okay as they do not wantto spend the extra return shipping cost if they don't fit. They did offer immediately to refund me including shipping if they don't fit...but they still seam to b pretty confident. Lets hope.

Sounds promising, cant waaaait.

Got an e-mail from the seller confirming what Tobeit said and will refund should they not fit. These guys communicate well with their customers.

Communication and correctness are two different things.

The installation instructions, if correct, show these are replaceable covers which our mirrors don't have.

If they sent the wrong instructions, though highly unlikely, they screwed up there.

Trying to stay positive here, bro.

I got the mirror covers today. Their quality looks good, paint is nicely matched to my OEM black, LED lenses look nice and clear...just one little problem, they don't fit.

The shape is very similar to ours (gen5 or Lexus?), but it is a back cover only and not an entire mirror housing. I will send it back and that is probably the end of the story. Too bad.

PS:...just holding them on made it look great....arrgh.

Darn, just gotta keep looking then.

Thanks for doing the leg work Tobeit.

wish the outcome would have been better :-(

I'm e-mailing my brother in law in the Philippines to see what the complete mirror assemblies go for there. With the Peso vs. Dollar exchange rate in favor of the dollar, it might not be too bad. I'll let you know if he comes back with a decent price.

Damn it, and i was hoping it was for GEN6 $&(@jrghoewgh I'm mad, even tho we ask him 100 times ,he was still wrong.

You'd think that these mirror cover manufacturers would know that Toyota sells a boatload of Camrys in the US and they'd make something compatible for the US market...

Posted by: EJA

That's too bad. The search continues.....

Posted by: LOV

Ok, I've found another website that has mirror covers, made for MALAYSIA custormer tho, so I'm not sure if it'll fit our Camry
here is the pic of it

there is another kind too,but again we need to contact this persons. And here is the URL for it(scroll down to the page)
http://www.asia.ru/en/ShortSearch/?q...0&subm it.y=5

You know, if we could find one from Aussie, that would be better, since they have th same Camrys as ours.

I've just checked, the Malaysian Camry is the same Aurion, so I guess this will fit as well.

Posted by: Goobee

Buying OEM mirror assemblies from the Philippines is a bust. Would have been ideal as their cars are left hand drive as well so they would have bolted right on without messing with the glass. From what I understand, the Philippines Camry is the Aurion.

Even with the exchange rate in our favor, they want $430 to $470 for each mirrors. Yikes!

I'm working on an alternative.

Emailed some pics to Tobeit but am waiting for details and answers from the seller/manufacturer.

Hi Njerald. I got your pictures. Looks good.

I did not have much time in the last week - just moved into a new house. Anyway, I now took a closer look at the covers I got and it might be pretty simple to integrate the LED in my OEM housing. The shape of the mirror housing and our OEM is very close if not the same around the LED area....so, a dremel tool, some fine sandpaper and glue might do the trick.

Here is what I am talking about.

Debating with myself if I should get a test mirror housing to try it out first....the outer edge is a bit more round on the covers, but the LED housing is "thick" enough to cover that.

Posted by: dcemureviews

I suggest getting a test mirror housing.

That's plan B but I don't know about the ribs or motor/mirror attach points that may be missing when the housing is milled out.

Good point. Have you opened one of your mirror already....hurry up .

I think I'll pass. My dremel skills aren't good enough to do neat and clean cut outs.

Positive News: have some info and requested more....

This is the whole mirror price, not just a cover.

Power w/LED Signal, Primed - $120 + $73 freight.

Power, Heated, Power Folding, Primed, w/LED signal - $147 + $73 freight.

Shipping time is 4-5 days.

Quantitiy of 10 only saves $10/mirror but ocean freight would save $$$$$.

3 mirror sets by air would be $58/set.

I asked about buying a sample set and am trying to work out the details.

They haven't supplied me with any detail pictures of the Camry mirrors.

I'll keep you posted................

Posted by: Goobee

Excellent news, the power folding one sounds interesting. Any idea if they offer painted and prices?

Me too ,but I'm not interested in power folding, heated but not folding.

I want a regular pair that does not have power foldering or heat. As long as it has the LED I am happy.

Yep, painting one set is a bitch. Most of the shops near me don't want to take little jobs and the ones that will take the little jobs charge up the butt. Let me know what your buddy wants for painting. Thanks.

Once I talk to him about it, if everything is a go... I'll get list of who needs what colors and take it from there.

Confused about one part, why not just order the mirrors through jayb82. What are the difference between his and the one you order(except for them being power, heated and power folding, which seem a lot of people don't want). Is that the only difference. Just trying to understand.

I should have my hopefully next week and once install will post picture of them(talking about the ones i order through jayb82)

No one wants heated mirrors because majority of people dont have that option. Njerald, myself and a few other people have it on our cars. So getting a mirror that does not support heated mirrors would give us a useless option.

As for why njerald chose those over jayb82 is the power folding and heated mirrors. njerald stated that he wont buy a mirror without heated mirrors. If the OEM mirrors that jayb82 had offered heated mirrors, I think njerald would jump on it.

Yes.

The heated mirrors clear the glass of frost, ice and rain drops.

I don't care about the folding but I will probably hook it up.

+ they are cheaper.........

What a pain....

First they wanted $8 more ($16 more for wire) for Paypal payment.

I specified LED in my order which woke someone up. They came back and said the original price was for incandescent signals and LED had just been developed.

LED mirrors were $24 more than previous quote.

I asked what was available to ship and that I preferred LEDs.

They came back and that the LEDs would be ready to ship in 5 days. I sent $24 more on Paypal this AM.

So maybe in 10 days or so, I may have something.

Later...............

Hmm? njerald: Any idea how the mirror (glass) themselves are? I'm guessing they are not DOT compliant. Will we be able to swap our OEM glass in?

I'm in CA and they have a law for just about anything. Pretty soon, I bet you won't be able to drive and pick your nose at the same time.

It don't matter if the glass is DOT compliant or not. I am in CA also, and no cop going to pull you over for the having non dot mirrors (most cop got no clue).

I'm sure they aren't DOT compliant. Pass. side mirror is flat.

Don't know about the size and US built glass is different than Japan built. Check your Service Manual.

Maybe I will have them this time next Saturday.........
