Help Please! 89 toyota ex cab deluxe V6 4wd. Been battling throttle hesitation for 3 years. Just replaced engine with reman. through toyota but still having the problem. Pulls out fine but once you settle in at a speed and then accelerate it feels like it's starving or missing and the only fix is to floor it or let off completely and get back in it. Once you do this it feels like it has shifted and pulls out like a v8. Sometimes does this on starting off. Feels like it's lugging until you floor it or change gears. At my wits end, if SOMEBODY could help me i'd sing your praises for years!!!

3M Paint Defender Spray Film provides automotive paint protection where it matters. Defend your car’s paint from rock chips, bugs, sand, and other everyday driving hazards with this innovative spray-applied protective product. This DIY product is easy to apply and dries to a clear film, giving your vehicle invisible protection on the road.

Invisible Protection for Your Vehicle

3M Paint Defender Spray Film sprays on anywhere on the car’s paint and dries to a clear, durable film for virtually invisible protection. This clear film defends against a range of elements, including love bugs and other airborne insects; gravel, sand and grit in warm-weather climates; winter road grime in cold-weather conditions; and rocks and other paint chip-causing road debris anywhere.

Easy to Use

This product puts car paint protection in your hands. The DIY 3M Paint Defender Spray Film is designed for just about anyone to use from the convenience of their own home. Products are low in odor and water-based for easy clean-up.

At the correct film application thickness, the liquid spray’s self-leveling formula levels out most imperfections so that application error is minimized.
The worry-free application is completely clear coat safe and can be easily removed if the desired appearance is not achieved the first time.
Durable Defense

3M Paint Defender Spray Film lasts for one year and protects any painted surface from everyday driving hazards. Rocks, sand and other debris can damage your car’s paint, causing unsightly paint chips that could potentially rust. With 3M Paint Defender Spray Film, enjoy peace of mind that your vehicle’s paint is protected for a year. The liquid spray dries to an invisible film that is safe for clear coats and removable when desired so that you can keep your car looking newer longer.

Removability

This easy-to-apply DIY spray-on film is also easy to remove. No tools are necessary – just pick an edge with your fingernail, then peel the coating from the surface with your hands. Rest assured that the product will not come off until you want it to. You can wash and wax over the film as you would the rest of your vehicle. And because of the specially formulated spray, 3M Paint Defender Spray Film won’t damage your car’s paint or clear coat.

My Avalon threw a code P1705 which turned out to be a very simple fix. The sensor is mounted on top of the transmission with easy access.

This sensor detects the rotation speed of the direct clutch drum. By comparing the direct clutch speed signal with the vehicle speed sensor signal, the ECM detects the shift timing of the gears and appropriately controls the engine torque and hydraulic pressure in response to various conditions, thus performing smooth gear shifting.

DTC P1705

The ECM detects conditions (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) continuity for 4 secs. or more.
(2-trip detection logic)

(a) Vehicle speed : 32 km/h (20 mph) or more
(b) 3rd or 4th gear
(c) NC2 < 300 rpm
(d) Park/neutral position switch: OFF
(e) Solenoid valves and vehicle speed sensor are normal
(f) L position: OFF

Possible causes:
Open or short in direct clutch speed sensor circuit
Direct clutch speed sensor - p/n 89413-08020
ECM

The resistance between the two terminals on the sensor should be between 560 and 680 Ohms

Here's the new sensor:

Here's a pic with an arrow pointing to where it is:

Here's a closeup showing it. Remove the one bolt holding it in (circled in red), unplug the connector, and wiggle it out. It's a snug fit with the o-ring on it. Make sure the new sensor is inserted all the way; it kinda pops into place. So give it a rocking motion when you insert it.

Hi folks,

Long time Odyssey fan who just bought 2012 LE, burgundy, 36k miles, Toyota certified for $22k excluding Tax and paper work fee. The van was the dealer shuttle vehicle. I thought this was a good price considering everyone else in southwest Washington and Portland metro were pricing it between 23.5-25.5 with the same year model and option. We'll be signing the paper tomorrow and hopefully bring the van home tomorrow night. I'm already thinking about headlight retrofit project since that is what I do for hobby lately.

I know we have 7year100k power train and 12 month 10000 miles comprehensive, but what are the thing to watch for this van?

Kinda excited to be in this forum.

Thanks

Help

Currently my flashers(hazard lights) work but my turn signals do not. I have auto lock out on the automatic shifter. I think I might have a bad relay. Is the red or burgundy relay in the fuse box under the steering wheel the one I need to replace. Any suggestions would be super helpful.
