First off i just want to say that I love my Camry. I drove it right off the truck and only had 2 miles on it. Everything has been great. No problems at all. I bought it in 2006. I put 75K on it. I sold Toyota's for over 3yrs, but got out of the business after a move back to Colorado from LV, NV and after the market went down. Anwyays here is my problem, maybe I can get some insight to it before I take it in.

The other night I avoided an accident. In doing so I hit my gas and peeled out for about 15 ft or so. When I was about home I saw all three lights engine, VSC, and Traction control light on. It must have been on for a while, but the car drove fine coudln't feel anything wrong. When I parked I sat in it for a while and the VSC, and Traction lights turn off, but engine light on. When the car starts to move, all the lights come back on, but again the car runs fine.

The next day I called service and told them what happened. They told me that I may have tripped my sensors, and the car should be fine to drive until I bring it in. Now I have been driving it the whole week and what do you know...all the lights turn off, and stay off until.....last night when I was merging on the highway I pushed the gas all the way down when the car reached about 4500-5000 rpms the engine cut power or feels like there is a lack of power after that I let off the gas and all three lights are back on. it runs fine but when the engine climbs or when I step on the gas and rpms go up it seems like the engine is choking or something. I once again sat in the car for a while and let the car idle sometimes the engine vibrates/choking for a few seconds and stops I don't know what the hell is wrong, but if anyone has any insight I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you

Hey everyone -

I'm new to the form and wanted some help with an upcoming maintenance task. I am helping a friend out with a brake pad/rotor replacement and have been looking for the torque specs. I haven't worked on a Toyota before (all my prior experience is w/Honda cars), but from what I've read, the brake caliper design is fairly similar to what I've worked with.

So instead of going out and getting a Haynes or Helms for a one time job, I thought I'd post here to ask for some info.

I need to know two things.

1. The torque specs for:

-caliper mounting bolts
-pad holder bolts if they exist? I'm not sure if Toyota uses these. It's a holder which has the rails that the pads move on. They screw into the knuckle from the rear.
-wheel lugs (I'm guessing 75-80 ft-lbs)

2. The brake bleeding sequence. What wheel order should I follow?

THANKS!

Over time, the black metal trim on that one door has faded and is almost starting to look a little corroded.
Hi all,
Was searching a lot on here over the past week and saw a few posts on this, but they were a little confusing. (This deals with the rattle/ clunking problem in the steering column)

Took my car in several months back and was told I needed ST001-06 (Replacement of the Intermediate Shaft). Cost was $700. I decided NOT to do it.

I called around and another Toyota dealer told me about T-SB-0296-08 which is basically a good grease job on the steering shaft. I was a little skeptical that this would fix it (and the price was still really high at Toyota. This TSB is supposed to replace 001-06. I shopped around and found a shop that did it for $220.

I am happy to say that it worked! Thought I would let everyone know in the event you were about to go the $700 route! I can't guarantee that this will fix everyone's vehicle, but mine was definitely rattling and clunking about as bad as it gets. Steering feel is great now.

Hope this helps! I also have the docs on BOTH TSBs but it seems this forum has no way to upload them.

Thanks in advance.
