Just got my H&R srpings for my 2009 Camry SE 4cyl 5 speed. He gave me a great price ($140 including shipping), and sent them out as soon as he recieved my money order. Normally I would use PayPal but he didnt have an account so I went with my gut and sent him the money order. Got my springs today, and in the exact condition he descibed them in. Would definately buy from again if the opportunity arose.

I recently bought some parts for my 2002 Camry on Ebay. Upon receiving them I quickly determined that they were fake knock-offs and not genuine Toyota parts. I don't want to out the seller yet because I'm still assessing my options.

I contacted the seller, who it turns out is located in China. The seller claims that if I return the product to him he will refund my money, but I'm not so sure that's the best course of action. The seller's fallback argument is that I should have known I wasn't getting genuine parts, because the ad said "The item is brand new and manufactured by an OEM approved manufacturer which meets stringent quality requirements." He claims this language is sufficiently loose to put me on notice that I wasn't getting legitimate Toyota parts. I'm pretty sure the OEM = Toyota and that Toyota has not "approved" of cheap chinese knockoffs marked as genuine Toyota products.

Do I have any recourse against Ebay or Paypal? Any point in contacting Toyota about this scumbag? This asshole is still selling the same parts on Ebay and I would like to shut him down. At the same time, I also want to get my money back. Blowing the whistle on him right now might remove any incentive he has to actually refund my money, whereas I would much rather get my money back first and THEN let everyone know not to buy anything from this guy.
